(L) Solty Rei, anime from GONZO

Just saw ep 12.

WTF happened to all those girls [Rose and the RUC crew]. First, they have specially bonded armours and have increased reflexs/speed/strenght/defence when under stress. Then those funny lines show up. Solty has much of the same but on a greater scale, so could it be they were used as a template to make her?

I would get it why they first add Rose to the cast, the mysetry is solved and now they kill her....... It would be weird to end characters like this, I mean she's even much in OP of the series and so far nobody got killed of them..... does this mean they change OP as well?

Seen 13.

Spoiler:

Basically the show can go 2 ways after dropping the bomb on this crew.

1. Rose is flatter than roadkill. End of story there. Solty moves on after realising she can't be a replacement child and Roy goes into "I'm a screwed up dad" mode Round 2. Without protection, the RUC goes after the girl and Roy and co. need to find it in themselves to help her.

2. Same as above. But Rose doesn't die because her Deus Ex Machina kicks in. When they send her to the hospital the RUC intercept the girl for 'recruitment'. Perfect opportunity for cyborg boyfriend to sell the idea of world peace and social equality. The key to that however, is Solty. Now Roy gets another chance but is on the opposing side. More drama but also loaded with a lot more cheese >_<

I'm edging towards scenario 2 but I'm going to let this show suprise me

After watching the same episode,

I'd have to agree with your second scenario, assuming that Rose isn't dead, but severely wounded in the accident.

I believe at this point of the story, the RUC girls are pretty much "pawns" in the twisted plot that's developing, with Rally being the main villain since it's obvious that he has a strong interest in both Solty and Rose, and is probably planning his next move in achieving his goal.

I also want to point out this:

Uto (Yute) found out about the RUC's involvement in the Blast Fall from his friend Jamie prior to her doing an "illegal" experiment (evidenced by the fact that she didn't want Roy to come in) on the effects of the magnetic waves of the Aurora stream in this episode. Uto tried to stop her, but ended up getting zapped with a stungun by Jamie.

Could it be that Jamie had some sort of involvement with the RUC prior to the events leading into the Blast Fall tragedy of twelve years ago?

This is just speculation as this episode brought about more questions in need of answers in terms of how the plot is developing, going into the second half of the series.

Well since the series evidently didn't end at episode 13 after you all say Rose is killed off.. most likely she isn't dead.. But what do they have planned for her is anyones guess.. Another impossible full resemble that Solty is?

no. they find out she's really a clone, and her body is actually at the RUC, and Solty is a Genetically modified tweaked version using Rita-san's DNA which is why shes so attached to Roy!!

Ok. one thing I noticed is that very little screen-time for Rose in the opening CG. isn't that mean Rose was really dead ? For me I don't mind even if the anime is going without Rose anyway.

I would rule out the RUC girls even BEING clones of Rita, or at least one in particular since ....

Just a thought here, but...

Remember episode 6? Near the end Solty heals a guy who had practically died. Or at least, something like that, since he's still wearing bandages at the very end... but at least, very much alive instead of dying/dead. There's no reason why she wouldn't be able to heal Rose, too. Unless Rose is already dead, of course. (but episode 12 ended too much in a cliff hanger for that to be true, imho.)

Of course, that doesn't really explain the title for the next episode.

@KoroshiyaX, you are absolutely right, as I just saw the episode this morning.

Spoiler for Episode 14:

Rose's corpse was brought to the coroner's office at the hospital. Roy identified the body as her's, screaming in horror as he pulled back the sheets covering her now dead body. Rose is buried the next day, with Roy, Miranda, Kasha, and Solty in mourning. The Anderson duo come along seconds later, with Andy punching Roy in the face in anger.

Now to get into the summary of things after what happened at the end of Episode 13:

After losing his daughter for the second time in his life, Roy has gone back into a state of sorrow in the same fashion as he did when Rita/Rose went missing twelve years ago in the Blast Fall, only now he's become more miserable after witnessing Rose die right in front of him. He doesn't eat, sleep, or even go to work (though he did drink heavily like before), pretty much shutting himself off from society. The others are very concerned about Roy, but couldn't really budge an answer from him. When Roy finds out that Jeremy (Uto's friend), who was responsible for the mini-Blast Fall that brought down the clock tower that crushed Rose to death, had regained conciousness, he goes to the hospital and gives the perpetrator a scarring of a lifetime. After leaving from the hospital, he turns his anger at Solty, blaming her as well for Rita's demise. Devastated and broken, Solty runs away crying.

Meanwhile at RUC's headquarters, some researchers were running tests on Axcela (somewhere along the lines of what's been done on R.O.D. the TV, Blue Gender, etc.). After testing was done, Axcela started for home, only to find a miserable Solty at the park. Axcela decides to comfort Solty by taking her back to her house, where Solty spends the night. The episode concludes with Roy still in a moment of sorrow and Solty walking in sadness down a dark alley.

Before I close, I'd like to point out this observation:

Spoiler for Episode 14:

At the beginning part of the episode, we see a brief image of Integra looking through the window of the coroner's office and walking away. It's quite possible that Rally sent Integra to the coroner to do "something" involving Rose's dead body. And that leaves the door open into knowing what the high ops at RUC might be up to, or at least Rally since Rose has been killed off the series, and Solty has now gone missing.

Also of due note, if you payed close attention to the grave marker at the beginning, Rose Anderson's name is on the front of the marker with her original name, Rita Revant, on the rear in brass plating. At least both names were acknowledged instead of one.
