It went by too quickly, although I agree there was not enough tension in the episode. Guess the slowing of hands also slowed the tension >_<
I cant wait for next episode. When will the psp game come out!?

Episode 15 wasn't as exciting as the last one but we get to know more about each players powers. Toki gets more screen time with Toki's powers transferring to Ryuuka's thighs? Shizuno's powers looks like she's able to stun down other's powers? Koromo said that in the first day she won 3/5 by last tile and by the end of the 2nd day she couldn't get to the last tile. I'm guessing Shizuno's power gets stronger the more she plays, therefore we see her warm up before the actual match starts. If that's the case, Shizuno's pretty powerful against others with powers.

With this latest episode, Saki Achiga-hen has turned into a hilarious self-parody to me. I'll leave it up to others to determine if its intentional or not.
Magical mahjong super-powers, and *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* lesbianism has always been a big part of the Saki franchise, but the way this latest episode combines them together is so very cheesy. Ryuuka is getting mahjong powers from lesbian rub-off. That is not one word of exaggeration or inaccuracy, either. That is precisely how Ryuuka is getting her powers. And now my mind realizes who the most powerful teenaged mahjong player of all-time would be. A female lesbian version of this guy. Or maybe Kaname Madoka from my PPPL fanfic... Spoiler for Lesbian Kaname, Magical Madoka Mahjong Master!:
More seriously, I had hoped that Awai would be the next Koromo. Instead, she's the next Ryuumonbuchi Touka. Ah well, at least that makes Awai an adorable ham. All of the above being said, this was an enjoyable watch. Seeing Shizuno and Ako switch outfits was pretty cool. Other positives: 1. All the graphics in this episode were pretty epic and fun. Those Key moves were like major mecha attacks. 2. The yuri moments were fun and playful. 3. The episode ended at a good point. Nice to see Saki watching Shizuno play.

So... After all this time, we finally have undeniable confirmation...
Shizu does not wear the Achiga uniform under her jacket! Anyway, joking aside... These last few episodes have been a great showcase of the abilities of Shindouji and Senriyama's players, as well as providing a look into the skills of Arata and Shizu, who really haven't gotten much focus until now. Unfortunately... this all comes at the expense of Shiraitodai, who end up looking like "Teru and four others." On the other hand, I still have hope for Awai, so I'm looking forward to seeing the next one. ... "Pillow God Toki" is still the highlight of the episode for me. *e* ... Somehow, I completely missed the Madoka jokes from Triple_R. Thirteen Orphans attached to Mami... could've also worked with Kyouko, but I think you made the right call with both. The insane synergy between the abilities of Sayaka and Homura... geeze, someone having both of those would be terrifying... Imagine getting hit big, then regenerating, then redoing that hand... Though... there's gotta be some limitations here beyond "only once per match." Teru's limited by having to get a higher score, Koromo can be blindsided if she's too focused on one player, and Saki's rinshan (ab)use has been kept in check numerous times. You'd have to make Madoka a horrible player when she's not borrowing skills from her girlfriends in order to keep this monster in check.

I think I saw a manga panel that hinted this somewhere before.

Now, I fully understand where Shizu suddenly got some mahjong powers:
Spoiler:
Oh, so sexy! Come to think of it, the two were naked at some point during the exchange.

Also, really good episode. Chibi Toki, or just Toki in general is the cutest thing. Combine that with Himeko making destruction rain from the heavens and you got yourself one cool match. Of course, can't forget Awai going full monster (anyone else found hilarious how she was playing normally while a portal to the home of the Old Ones was wide open on her back? That's the sakiverse for you). My favorite part, though, was Shizu giving a big blow to Awai seemingly out of nowhere, announcing it with a totally cool, deadpan voice, and not just Awai, but everyone else looking shocked. Did you forgot she was there? Well, surprise! That's the kind of power you get from wearing your lover's clothes.
Meanwhile, on the commentarists' booth, Kouko essentially succeds in getting Kojaki to marry her. Congrats, you loco lesbian. And yes, it was a great detail how they showed Shizu's jacket is way too small for Ako. |

In Sakiverse, mahjong can be many things ranging from Tanoshi to Nightmare to sexually suggestive, but this episode is where mahjong is the expression of LOVE to your yuri partner on National TV even commentators are doing it!
Obviously, the highlights of this episode for me are Himeko’s key attacks, Toki-chan and Awai going all out with double riichi. Himeko’s keys: Yeah, totally expecting Gokumi to use that OST when Himeko summoned her baiman key. I suspect that OST must be their official kickass music. Guess I was right. Toki-chan: Finally, my favorite hex in Achiga. It’s one of the more beautifully portrayed hex in Saki and totally screems yuri. Overall, very splendid animation, but I did imagine a brighter pinkish background completely decorated with sparks and lily field the one in the anime is a little too dark for my taste. Awai’s double richi: Yes, totally awesome. This is the moment I’ve been looking forward to the most to see animated. Props to Gokumi and Saito Chiwa making Awai appear even more sex-deprived than in the manga, plus Crunchy’s translation which I sometime find it too literal compare to the manga really strikes that scene. That part when she said, “Can I do it now right?” is really spot on. Lastly, is it just me or the scene before the ending credit really reminds me of the scene at the end of episode 8 with Shizu as… coincidence? One more thing, did anyone notice a strange fog surounding Shizu when she win? Guess that's the power of Ako's scent? Last edited by teja208; 2013-04-03 at 02:17. |

I am so glad someone made a .gif of Awai's double riichi :
Also I really liked the music they used when it happened, and I am pretty sure that's a new song not from the released OST of Achiga. I think they also used a new track during the round when Himeko got her baiman win unless I didn't hear it somehow in one of the previous special episodes. I rather enjoyed the episode, especially since it seemed extra yuri fueled even for Saki .

So Shizu is like the anti-Mahjong superpower ability user, where she does a buster on all other's superpower abilities and destroys the power moods, huh? She was the most anticlimactic person in the episode. Well, I hope she shows real superpower awesomeness the next episode because right now, she is such a mood killer. I'm guessing it is intentional, so we'll have to see what happens next.
Btw, when is the real season 2 of Saki going to be animated. I really miss those gals. Saki Side A has been entertaining, but it has not been at the same level as the main route Saki.

Y'know, the last episodes of Cheating: Who's The Most OP? are spaced out so far that I actually had forgotten what happened in the last episode. Still, it was nice to set up my new internet connection to find a new episode waiting for me. I guess they'll have to face off against Medusa in the final episode.

My respect for Nodoka Haramura keeps rising with every new episode of Saki.
In a world where just about every other successful teenaged mahjong player relies on some sort of superpower (some of them bordering on cheating, yes), Nodoka makes due on pure skill. And she's still one of the very best mahjong players amongst her peers. Nodoka truly is the Batman of the mahjong world.

But when she did the spin and tried again, the whole hand to swoosh, and all spread out... When I got them back, I somehow noticed one of my tiles went outside the window and down to the first floor (took a peek...). Sheesh, whoever can do what Awai do must be good at handling... Speaking of OST, if thats the case, wouldnt it be possible that there is a second OST soundtrack CD? Quote:
