Newtype's BONES blowout has an article on this! It's real!

Animation Director: Tsuneori Saito

So, this could be an alternate story to the TV series as opposed to a follow up?

I guess Newtype Scans should clear it up. Either way I expect it to be 100% newly animated.

After 2 years, I really expect the same thing. I wonder why Yoshida isn't the animation director. Maybe after Stranger they're REALLY happy with Saito? I guess I'll find out when the Stranger blu-ray ships.

Some notes from the article:

- Brand new mechs, strong designs
- They're promising mid-air action sequence unheard of in recent animation movies
- Right now they're in script and storyboard phase
- It's not going to be like the RahXephon movie, but a different direction
- They keyword is "myth", a new myth that humanity yearns for

Maybe it'll open with Renton free falling onto a Tower State ship and killing everyone onboard with his BARE HANDS.

AHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAAAAA.

Seriously, that'll be interesting. I enjoyed e7 although it was about 7-8 years too late to REALLY knock my socks off. They already made such kick ass arieal fight animation, HOW WILL THEY TOP IT??!

Until further clarified, it should be seen as a remake.

If it's anything like the theatrical RahXephon, this should be awesome.

I love that movie. BONES really know how to make a "remake, but not really".

True, it could very well be a sort of alternate retelling of the story, just like RahXephon movie was. In any case, I'm definetely looking forward to this as well. BONES surely seems to be quite on fire this year, with this movie, Soul Eater, and Bonen no Xamdou.

Ah...a retelling no matter, it should be great the animation and it seems the action sequences are going to be unmatched.

Now I have another movie to look forward to. Nice joke reference to Escaflowne (movie).

Isn't BONES doing a really huge amoutn of stuff at once? o_o (or are they all just being announced at the same time...) Yikes.

And I don't even know where on earth they get the funding to make a movie out of Eureka 7, but woohoo Kenichi Yoshida.

Well it indeed makes me question where they're getting all these funds from, to be able to work on so many ambitious projects, this year

Ok, after reviewing the info on the forums and ANN (Anime News Network).

I can officially say.... that the Eureka Seven Forums actually broke the newtype announcement "1 DAY" before ANN did.

The forums have come a long way, thanks to the hardcore Eureka Seven fans.

Anyways, I do thank ANN and ofcourse Duckroll and 2Chan for confirming the information.
