What's the best fansubbing group... name?
Okay, that other topic is really pointless, so I figured I'd ask a more interesting question.
My personal favorites are Honobono and Spoon. Although Your Mom is always amusing.

somehow, i don't see the mods letting this one slide either but for amusement's sake...
*pulls out baka-updates list* (no surprise that 'A' has the most amount of pages list wise') Anyways creme de la creme, Okay we have.... A.S.S (By no means could it possibly mean 'Advanced SubStation Alpha') Back Store (interesting going ons in the back of that store?) C and D (Deathnote related, this was hilarious and much appreciated) CoalGuys (Random points) Deer Fansubs (Bambi turned fansubber?) DeSiBoY Fansubs (if that is what i think it means anyways...) Encodergasm (pixel whore nivarna perhaps?) FFS (fantastic...fan..subs? Sure~~) GIVEmeBLood (well prob related to blood anime, but on its own, it's amusing) goat (had they added 'ie', I'd be concerned...) Imouto (lil sisters fetishes?) Kimochii (subs that give u that warm fuzzy feeling) Lililicious (cute points) Loli-in-a-Box (the imagery alone is enough on a disturbing level) Ludicrous Configuration! Productions (eh? O.o) Prutser Fansubs (again... eh?) Rabbit-Force (must be very productive in the april seasons....) Scramble! (because the boardgame kicks ass) Yabai-Fansubs (just one of my fav japanese words) Your-Dad (to go with 'your mom' naturally)

I'll echo Lililicious as my personal favorite.
There are few group names I really like, but there are plenty I dislike. One thing I notice, is that I'm more inclined to not download (and subsequently not watch) a release if the group name gives off a bad vibe. This is just all in my head obviously, but I keep doing it nonetheless. |

Agreed on the negative front.
'we suck' fansubs is like 'ok... i'll take your word for it' - Out of that list, C and D is the only one I know/viewed, the others deserve a lil limelight, i figure (Wonder how many names were created under the influence of alcohol..) edit: Fine *laughs* Scramble! (because it reminds me of the boardgame, which kicks ass) If A.S.S sincerely wanted to be known for skyscrapers and not gluteus maximus, I'd not get their subs due to lack of a sense of humour

That game was "Scrabble", not "Scramble!" The best group names that come to mind at once for me are... Slow Ass Hell Fansubs SARS Fansubs BakaMX RAWBQ "A raw distro someone I knew ran. This was back when raws were hard to find still." |

I figure Unlimited Translation Works / [UTW] would make for a great group name. That or were it not already a group Sekai, which I had in mind for a softsubbed multi-language release group.
Spawned from a typo yesy I have always thought looks great as a tag, along with KAA and some other abbreviations. I guess most leechers would equate a fansub name to the srsness of the group at the same time, a reason why names related to the sub itself such as HorribleSubs, Quality-subs (better than QUALITY-subs at least), Suck Suck Subs etc. would be best avoided lest for a comical effect. Best group name though? [Fabulous] |

I like the japanese words for names, like: Ureshii, Yabaii, Oyasumi, etc. They sound cool.
On the other hand these funny names are cool in a way, like: Randomfaggots n stuff I still wonder why the Shinsen haters didn't made Shitsen-subs. No offense just wondering... |

martino: When I was helping shs when I came back, the most I got was "wtf? why?!". And I simply told them the reality that SHS is not all that day as they had been in the past. Also that they do strive for a certain level of quality. PPL will always have a group that is "cool to hate", there are many now. It's always best to ignore that fad because it may be you next, who knows~ |
