Good news day.
The cover for the last Movie Program has been revealed. Also, a cool box will be on sale on Froovie to store all 7. http://yamato2199.net/showinfo_07.html#pamphlet Also, despite the troubles with episode 25's delay and the Blu-Ray/DVD's being pushed back to October, the Limited Edition versions will start being shipped to those who aquired them on October 10th. http://yamato2199.net/index.html#vol07_bd_shippingday

So they won't get their BD until after the TV run as well. Even if there is a week delay somehow to end it all on October 6th.
While the box might be good, there are a bunch of people that are waiting for a box set.

The box to store the pamphlets will be sold at Froovie at the price of 1000yen. It would be nice for a box to come out for the Blu-Rays too, though. I like the englis only logo, they could use that for the english dubbed version (if it sees the light of day) instead of Star Blazers 2199.

Yamato2199.net announced that they are coming out with a 1/1000th scale model of Dessler's command ship seen fully in episode 23. It should be coming out in November. In December a new 1/500th scale Yamato will come out as well. 666mm long.
Still not word on when Dommel's flagship or the multi-deck carrier will be coming out even though prototypes for those have been out for a while. No word on the newer style of Gamilas battleship either. Not even a prototype of it has shown up yet.

So with Dessler's ship you get two fighters of the type seem over Pluto (DDG110). This may be a "standard" fighter type for the fleet as we saw a bunch of them at Balun along with the flying wing type (DWG229). Not sure of the age of the fighters and bombers used with Dommel's carrier force at the Rainbow Star Cluster. Save that the Drill Missile Bomber was old (DBG88).
The Gamilas Set III comes with a Battlecruiser, the Dimensional Submarine UX-01 and two DWG262 fighters. One in red (Melda's custom paint job) and one in green (standard paint job/"Sword 3").

Mecha Colle 33 piece set includes 3 new models, the Black Tiger, which was previously only available as a resin kit, the Domelas II(Saucer?), and the Cosmo D Cleaner.
The Cosmo D Cleaner will most likely be identical to the one bundled with BPX-01. |

Probably, though getting a nice sized, but nit huge, version of Dommel's ship would be nice. Something about six inches long would be perfect for gaming. And almost in scale with the Musashi Enterprises' Star Blazers miniatures.

It's just the saucer ship. Also announced the release date for the Gaiperons. Lambea in January and Shuderg in February. The Balgrey doesn't have a release date yet.

Normally I am not too fond of the orange eyed Gamilas ships, but I have always loved their multi deck and battle carriers as I thought carriers were their faction's specialty.
It appears that the 41cm carriers will be individual releases. I hope to see tons of fighters! Building a Gamilas fleet reminds me of the PS2 Yamato games. As these wonderful carriers were described as training ships, this makes me wonder whether they're deemed as obsolete and have been replaced by the saucer shaped carriers, even for space bound operations. The saucer shaped ones' carried aircrafts are also multi roled for both dogfighting and attacking. The aircrafts on board all three carriers must also be obsolete as even Melda and other Gamilas pilots had a different high speed fighter. |

A 1/1000th scale Gamilas Fleet will be expensive. I already have a Gamilon Fleet in miniatures (roughly 1/4600th scale). I think about 100 painted ships just for Gamilon. Destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and carriers. With some special attention to special weapons ships (command cruisers and improved battle carriers)
A 1/1000th scale fleet would look really impressive at a convention battle though. People could see the ship from a ways off rather than passing near the table and asking it it is Full Thrust.

I am just planning to build Dommel's Rainbow Star Cluster Fleet.
Alternatively, building a 10-12 ship fleet with at least 2 of each non flagship type ship would be good. When collecting mecha 15-18cm figures, I tend to buy 2 for mass produced type to show that they're mass produced. Any more than 2 is kind of overkill. I don't need to buy 12 identical ones to represent a squadron. However with smaller scale figures, the numbers do matter. I have BPX-01 Playstation era styled Yamato and luckily bought GX-58 Andromeda recently. I know that they're incompatible with the upcoming 2199 Yamato or any other variation, but I couldn't wait for a potential 2200 version Andromeda. Hopefully even an Andromeda II would make an appearance in future sequels. The 1/500 scale 333m Yamato is pretty long as it measures 66cm long, which is only a small fraction shorter than the 75cm 1/350 Yamato. |

We'll see what the responces to the final episodes are and if there is potental for a sequel series that might give us a new Earth Fleet (and an Andromeda). One assumes they would leave that opening, but we won't know for sure until the series ends.
