A side note: Color Blindness can be useful. Camouflage doesn't work against the color blind. Thus Satoko would be useful as detecting hidden soldiers and traps.

Both Rika and Miyo are toys of two powerful witches, Frederica Bernkastel and Lambdadelta. They are just playing a game to defeat each other, and Rika is Frederica's (notice how it sounds very close to Furude Rika) and Miyo is Lambdadelta's toy. (Lambda is 3, and Delta is 4 in Latin I think, and Miyo can also be read as 3 and 4 respectively, in one of the Japanese alphabets.)

The reason why Rika is resurrecting over and over is Witches (or at least Bernkastel) can resurrect a person as many time as they want, and thus the worlds repeat until she wins. And as you see at the end of Higurashi no Naku koro ni Rei, Bernkastel goes to Miyo's past and prevents her parents from dying in the accident, enabling Miyo never to start researching Hinamizawa Syndrome, thus saving Rika from her horrible fate.

Those are the info that I've gathered when I played up to Episode 2 on Umineko no naku koro ni Visual Novel. Some info may be flawed.

In ep4 Lambdadelta told us the only reason Bern won is because Lambda allowed her to start with her pieces anywhere she wanted, and she started with all her pawns at Lambdas side of the board, thus Berns pawns all tranformed into queens

Hanyuu is at least a traveler level witch, while she was called a god it is not necesary true, as witches aso explained that they are given different names depending on who talks about them.

If you're talking in terms of type I think Hanyuu might even be considered a Creator - she can literally create new worlds for Rika to return to. Voyagers can only travel to kakera - that is, they have no type of control over the worlds they travel to.

No, as seen by the numerous and hazardous arcs, Hanyuu doesn't create anything. She simply has the power to "transfer" Rika's memories, that's all. Therefore, you can't even consider her as part of such categories, but her own herself.

She cannot create the kakera at all, they are there already. If she could, you could bet the tragedies would have been preempted for ages already.
She wasn't a "player" in higurashi, she was a piece like Rika and the rest. The real players were Bern and Lambda, that's all.

Hanyuu is quite simply a god. ΛΔ says in her diary that gods are beings that are superior to witches.

That she will get her. Kind of dramatic and daring. Also why can she see her anyways. Enough content to put Higurashi and Umineko together. Yet whats Hanyuu doing in the middle? And why Hinamizawa?

I'm not sure what you mean about Hanyuu - she's the shrine god aka Oyashiro-sama. So of course she resides in the shrine.
