I didn't know the manga was ending soon as well... I figured that the reason that the anime and the manga took such different routes was because the manga would go on for a lot longer than the anime, so it had a lot longer to tell a story than the anime. You mean the manga is going to be over soon too?! NOOOOOO!!!

at least there's Gundam Seed Destiny to look forward to once FMA is over XD.

and the FMA movie next summer

Thank god it's continuing... Roy and Riza haven't gotten married yet, Ed and Winry haven't hooked up, Hohenheim hasn't even made an appearance, Ed and Winry haven't hooked up...

Well, she did kill off Hughes, a popular character with the fans just to advance plot. Lust is another fan favorite, and off goes her heart.

So I've seen this episode about 3 times and with the help of a dictionary I've come to the conclusion that...

The conversation that Ed and Dante have is about how equivalent trade does not exist. Dante argues that the watch state alchemists wears is proof of that. Furthermore she says that the time of most unequivalent trade is parenthood (i.e. childbirth). Ed's realization of this sends him across the gate and into "reality" maybe?

At least that's what I got from it.

I guess we have to wait until next week to understand how the bombing of London leads to the story of FMA. The commentary about the two worlds still hasn't been revealed.

Al is dumb, but Ed is more dumb than him. How could he hope to defeat the leader of homunculus alone?
He needs some sort of secret power/weapon to kill Dante, as well as Envy (it hasn't any known remains of his former self). I think he'll find them behind the gate, in the place where he's now (if not it doesn't make sense for him to be in that context).
He'll be able to come back from the gate: after all Wrath was able to open the gate by himself because he had human limbs attached within him.

dante is onli an alchemist remember...ed needs to be better than dante to kill her off....its simple...she has no more real philo stones..besides Al...and once ed kills dante...the onli one whu can bring her back is wrath...but i have a feelin ed onli needs himself to kill off wrath..for what reason...think about it...wrath has eds body parts...its jus sumthin that has to click in order for wrath to spit out proto stones and for ed to seal him...then its jus pride envy and gluttony...i think gluttony will prolli jus eat himself up..and its wrath vs ed...cuz pride is a dumb fuck

Excellent forshadowing...(after reading the full summary). He believes he should be, so he might just be. And I don't think Ed will be coming back from the gate either, nor Hoenheim. I am left wondering what will happen with the sins. I think the clothing style definitely forshadows the movie. And I think it's an alternate reality where they existed, but not as themselves, and by crossing the gate properly, they now exist there, but no longer in the other realm. I think. This should be interesting.

Thanks for the link. In my opinion when dante and Ed are talking and they refer to the city in the east that dissapered in a single day I think that it is the city Xerxes referenced in the manga.

Personally, I really don't know what to say about this episode... it seems it has ups and downs quite a lot...

so the Elrics have romantic feelings towards Roze? when did that happen? I'm kinda happy to see that Archernator is not really completely crazy but still retains at least some reasoning ability and the ambition to "unite the continent".

So Dante actually thought of herself as a god protecting the world and trying to scare people away from the philosopher's stone by spreading the rumors and killing anyone who has successfully made the philosopher's stone? and people are stupid enough just like that dog that even they know it has great danger but still try to get the philosopher's stone? but that doesn't explain why she send out the homunculus to spread the petrification disease and find talented alchemists to encourage them make philosopher's stone... plothole? Or maybe Dante is just lying to Ed in hope that she can get ti sleep with him

I find that scene when Dante said "I'm no longer human" and then Gluttony burst in screaming "where is Lust?" super hilarious somehow.

About the alternate reality/time travel/whatever behind the door... I think there's still too little info on that part, maybe next episode it will explain more...

The "Archernator" is such a ludicrous concept of a possible villian that I shall no further comment about him.
And the rest about the real world & alternate world I'm at a total loss. Need to rewatch it like 10 times.

Well, dante DOES need someone to be able to create the philosophers stone for her. Or can she do it herself?? I suspect creating the Philosophers stone requirs a fair bit of skill that she doesnt have.

I think the reason why someone needs to create the stone for her, is that she will die from the transmutation itself like ed's father and scar. Al only survived because to the process because of his armor. Just my 2c.

Does Dante knows what lies behind the gate? Because she keeps sending people there saying that she broke the union of body, soul and mind, but when Ed got there, he didn't forget who he was or anything else, that doesn't seem like the effect Dante had in mind.
