It's seems that Bach aged well, but Yama hasn't, considering they're both more than 1,000 years old.

I think we know of at least 3 other characters in this series who are at least 1000 years old. (Unohana, Shunsui, and Ukitake.) So one could easily say the same about them I guess. Though I think the answer has more to do with Yamamoto probably just being way older than everyone else. Maybe he's 3,000 years old while Juha Bach is only half that? Come to think of it, Bach looks similar in age to Shunsui IMO.

Unohana, Shunsui, Ukitake should be 2000+ years old. Shunsui and Ukitake are the first captains graduated from Shinigami Academy founded by Yamamoto 2100 years ago.

Pretty cool chapter, we got to see two of Yama's bankai attacks. I hope we also get to see what "North" and "South" look like.

Sadly, truly mind boggling hax are gonna be required for this Mustache guy to win.

Or Ishida's role in this arc might just be as "significant" as Chad, Orihime and Rukia's in their respective arcs. So... not much.

True enough. We didn't even get to see the results of Chad's fullbringer training, nor did he get a chance to do anything of significance, except punching a hole in the wall

Goddammit, you made me waste hours on Bleach fanfictions site, before I realized they were just fanfictions...
Some of those would be quite awesome if true, though...

Well I wouldn't consider it a total waste. Because the bleach fandom seems divided on whether to consider the events regarding the 8th Kenpachi (and the novel in general) as canon or not. At the very least, Kubo did give his approval towards the author and the novel as well draw up illustrations of some of the featured new characters.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with regarding the novel canon. But to each his own I suppose.

There is no 'North' and 'South'

Sun rises & sets in East/West , which is what it symbolizes....

it was bloody awful and made Kenpachi ungodly and insanely overpowered, not to mention those other stupid Kenpachi and their absurd hax abilities

I will never acknolwedge such garbage as being canon. It reads like a bad fanfic.

Yamaji's bankai is awesome. So powerful it doesn't even burn, everything just instantly incinerates. No flames but still impressive. And seeing all the moisture being sucked from Soul Society was a nice touch

The "South" is just for the ladies. He is the Supreme Commander after all...

Ah, good point. Well then, I still hope we see other attacks.

And it makes other men in the vicinity go impotent (looking at you Hitsugaya) or have their blades broken (Bach)

I said this before - If it turns out that they cannot steal his Bankai(which I highly doubt) then a possible reason could be that the Bankai needs to physically manifest itself in order for the Shitritters to steal it. Since Yamji's Bankai compresses all of the flames in his blade it isn't possible for them to steal it.

Then again its still possible that Huha(its intentional) will steal the Bankai in the next chapters.

Yeah, I agree, their bankais cant be stolen because it becomes a part of them. Not an extension of them.

1st cap puts it all on his sword and the flames cover his body, itchigo does the same, even his clothes change when in bankai mode because it covers his body.

Hyorinmaru was stolen, and that kinda becomes a part of hitsugaya...
