I found the official site's characters page useful, so I've made a characters/seiyuus page incorporating the info from it. It gives names and pics of characters, along with an outline of their back-stories. I've added names, pics, and some roles of the seiyuus.
I think the page will help me get everything straight more quickly, and maybe it will help some others. Now here's hoping this show is as good as I think it might be. The characters' interesting back-stories are another good sign. note: I may have given the wrong pronunciation for the name of the town, the dorm, etc. The kanji can be pronounced in various ways. I'll correct the names if necessary when I hear them in the show.

Very interesting, thanks for the page. I find it interesting that I know most of those VA from previous animes that I've watched only recently, so I will probably be listening more than I usually do to their voices |

Wow... it was even better than I expected it to be. If the episode itself didn't sway me, the beautiful Opening theme (Blue) (which was played at the end of the episode, how misleading!) did. First time that Suara sings a song like this, and it sure turned out well!
Definite watch. Spoiler:

Well, someone in Berlin saw it, so there must be something somewhere. In any case, all I've seen so far on an unnameable Japanese network are three fake versions, .scr files that are probably virus-infected booby-traps.
However, 2channel has some screenshots, and generally positive reactions from posters: ttp://sakuratan.ddo.jp/uploader/source/date53539.jpg EDIT: Spoke too soon. On its way.... Thanks, m.

Well, that was fully as good as I had hoped. So much happening above and below the surface. A very full first episode. And the most fabulous voice-acting. Yajima Akiko as Mari was tremendous, with little emotional turns hiding in her words everywhere. Yukino Satsuki as Michiko was at the same high standard as she was in Hitohira. And Nakata Jouji's voice is so hypnotic.
I had no complaints about the animation. The images worked very well for me. The scene with the flock of birds was top-notch, in my opinion. I thought the music was well done, too. I only saw a couple of tiny bits of implied yuri in the episode, but it looks as if there is more to come. I'd probably call it good shoujo drama, so far, if that's a category. Can they keep this up and broaden and deepen it? My only worry was at the end, something that I had to use willing suspension of disbelief on, but it was so good in itself that I'm happy to find out later why it could work. If we were giving ratings, this would be a 9, for me. Quote:

Not bad at all, I would say.
Spoiler for ep.1:
For now I like Yukino Satsuki's character more than Mari who is too angsty (for a good reason, it seems but still). And their teacher is hot as hell, too bad the yuri probably won't involve her. The birds scene was quite beautiful and I hope the series manages to be as dark as it seems to strive to be, judging from the start.

No love for Blue Drop from the raw bloggers yet, but I enjoyed it quite a lot. I've got no idea where it's going yet, but it looks like it's going to be an intriguing ride.
Also, I adored the music, especially the piece around ten minutes in. Dramatic piano solos <3 |
