I hope the extra stuff on disc makes it worth buying again.... wonder how much time Arc System Works can put into this when they're also working on a Persona fighting game...

It's very possible that they're finding themselves too busy to make an entire new game, so we're getting this instead. If I recall, they're also making the nurarihyon no mago fighting game.

A single new character and stuffing in the previous storyline is not grounds for a new disc, IMO.

Every fighting game company does this.

The Umineko doujin game Ougon Musou Kyoku that was released Dec 2010 is going to get another new release in Dec 2011 @ C81. All we know is that there is 2 extra characters as of now.

Virtua Fighter 5 came out in 2006 in Japan and than proceeded to get updated in the arcades.

Virtua Fighter 5
Virtua Fighter 5 R
Virtua Fighter 5 R Version B
Virtua Fighter 5 R Version C
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

And I believe that there's a Version B of Final Showdown either out already or on the way. For people outside of Japan it will be over 5 years of waiting between Virtua Fighter 5 and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown....

People who think Capcom are the only ones who do this are just point blank ignorant and misinformed.

Well, they already stopped doing that with CS2 (god, why the console version can't have Shinsou? No offense to KOTOKO fans, but each time one of her songs pop in the game, I cringe...).

Honestly, at this point, I wonder if they will justify the purchase of extend with "enough" content.
That said, the whole issue with online being different looks far fetched if you ask me: unless I'm mistaken, the online feature between CS1 and CS2 console versions was changed without really much troubles, so justifying a entire different disc with that reason is ridiculous.

Now the question is: will they still update regular CS with balance patch after Extend is released?

I say let the people bitch. It's really not that huge of an issue and it's normal for fighting game series to do this all the time.

I'm just glad this this confirms that I can trade in both CT and CS for Extend.~
