a teenager who's widely regarded as a moron
After what happened in the debate, I doubt that he could be called a moron.

Any politic figures I know off used to be called a moron through out their career life, honestly.

Hey, I even think Liu Bei is a moron, too. Look at what he could do.

WHAT!?!

As much as I hate abandoning a storyline in the middle, the past couple of episodes are just a bit too much of the plot hammer overriding what should be obvious.
Err, he was appointed King against his wishes, it was not something he worked for. His main objection in this episode is that he had to sacrifice his past position to come here, not that he felt that attached to it. For that matter so is he likely to actually gain power from this as his title was more of a formality before as it was the student council who had the most power.

That teenager happens to have the most political power on the ship... and now military power. I don't think the King had much power except maybe on the ship.

You have to understand that even though he holds the title of King he has no real power because it's the Testament Union who really runs everything and he didn't make Tori King at all just his representative.

I took this to mean Toori and Horizon are now Viceroy.

Oh yea my fault for not paying attention to the speech...Viceroy & Vicereine which is in terms of royalty one step below King and Queen...

As far as i know from watching this series, in this world, the one that holds power (politician) are the students. Once you graduate from school, you lost your political power and become advisor instead that holds no power.

And the Emperor is still retaining his position. Toori and Horizon are merely Viceroys (or in the traditional terms, Kings or Warlords)...

ya... that why I said Futayo is simply mentally weak(or just being negative).Futayo is able to damage Kimi during the dance but Kimi can't even touch Futayo, and yet Futayo give up the fight.Futayo souldn't give and she should increase more speed.

She hate her name(kimi), because it sound like egg yolk .
The name is just like a "cloth" for her.It doesn't represent herself. If Futayo continue to use her tonbokiri, Kimi will end up naked .
Curse Futayo for giving up so fast, she should use more Tonbokiri for the sake of the viewer

Of course Kimi would actually power up the more clothes lost due to getting more erotic and the divine approval of that.

No, I'm pretty sure you were following your own story in your head rather than the show, otherwise you wouldn't have missed out the fact that 1) he doesn't have any real political power at all, 2) He never wanted to be the king and only did it to save his country from being attacked by the Union, and 3) He still holds majority of the 'power' and only let both Toori and Horizon hold 1/4 each.

I don't know whether she is mentally weak or not
maybe she thinks "When speed fails, try something else"
after Tonbokiri fails, she is shocked

Also I think this is the last talking ep, we will have 3 (or 4?) straight fighting eps
I am excited about it

I have been paying very close attention to the story. And I've even reviewed the wiki. Unlike everyone else, I'm simply not convinced about how much of a genius Toori is and hadn't let that color my perception.

Anyways...whatever.

If you have ever voted, have you ever voted for idiots or geniuses

The King didnt gave him power because he was a Genius, it was because he has the will to make things happen, and thats all he needs. The genius will always be behind the fool it doesnt matter how you put it.

I'm not sure which review you read about this. But from what I 've watched/read/known so far, Toori has never been a genius in any kinda way, imo he just has the charisma and the faith of the people following him, even idiots can have charisma you know.

In fact, I don't think the anime has not shown enough about this aspect of Toori, but you can see how people trust him to make things happen...

Like in RoTK, Liu Bei is not the smartest or most badass out there, but what did he have under him? Why the smartest and most badass followed him?

And in term of power, he's obviously not your normal teenager lol. He's the president of both of the Union (millitary) and Student Council (political) of Musashi. In Horizon's world, that is helluva lot of power (you can read more about how powerful those two organizations are in other threads)...

It's about giving the appropriate amount of power to someone who can make a splash.

I never said Toori was a genius and I'm not particularly keen on defending that point whichever way... Hell, even Toori himself admits that he's inapt for a lot of things. But what he does have, and it's obvious from how everyone followed him- is Charisma and people want to have faith in him because he puts his faith in them without hesitation... Plus, I don't see anyone else willing to take the job.

But for someone who has been paying close attention... Even if it's just normal attention, it was pretty clear that the episode had addressed those concerns that you have brought up, mostly about the decision that the King of Musashi had made.

Toori is a manipulative bastard and is a secret weapon(read: walking anomaly) in the battlefield. He's also very optimistic. I think that's part of why people follow him.

So both Toori and Kimi are perverts... interesting how their personality changed from outgoing leader shounen character (Toori) and stoic angry violent big sister (Kimi) to a perverted fool and ero seductress characters.

Did one influence the other into becoming perverts?
