Dark/Violent animes

I've been out of the Anime game for a while and saw elfen lied on netflix which made me want to watch a new good anime.

I enjoy darker animes like :

Elfen lied
gantz
hellsing(not as much as the rest)
eden of the east
(one about the village where the kid murders most of the people)
though a manga Parasyte is very much so my style

And i bet ive seen a whole lot more that are dark but i forget.

netflix animes are great but any will do

thanks for any suggestions!

Aoi Bungaku series - a collection of small dark stories

Claymore - dark and with a lot of blood

Deadman Wonderland - reminds me of Elfen Lied with all the flying body parts and stuff.

Death Note - not that violent but quiet dark

Ga-Rei Zero - starts with violence, than becomes comedy and slowly goes back to its dark tones again.

Ghost Hunt - a ghost detective, not violent but does have some creepy and dark parts

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom - dark with no real humour but not actually violent like body parts and blood flying everywhere. Though it is quiet cruel moraly.

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin - a really good choice. No flying body parts but still is dark with some harsh and violent moments.

Shiki - everyone starts to die in the village and suppouse that it is an epedemic but is it?

Umineko no Naku Koro ni - a LOT of violence, killing, torture... so yeh quiet dark

Wolf's Rain - quiet dark and violent

The Skull Man is definitely one worth considering. It's stylishly energetic and never misses a beat, and will keep you on your toes but never loses its viewer. Really just quite an under-the-radar anime, dark or otherwise.

Definitely Basilisk, man that series almost had me turned off with the abuse to the women.

Also Speed Grapher, sadisitic, depraved, dark, 10/10

Akira- has a dark and gritty futuristic setting. It has excellent animation and is quite violent as well with some memorably disturbing images like the mutation scene which you'll know when you see it.
