You can make a good amount of credits with tier 5 non-premiums. (This is not a real answer.)

...involves finishing almost two thirds of the enemy team by a very angry and very mobile murderer.

Spoiler for details:

Himmelsdorf encounter, south team. I joined up the classic hill brawl, where our team proved superior. I hull-downed, flanked around the castle, and kept putting in the hurt because apparently the enemy had better things to do than stopping a T20 that was taking them down one by one.

In the meantime, our tank alley was in trouble as the enemy down there seemed to be securing their victory. No matter, we secured the hill with minimal losses and that, or so I thought, guaranteed our victory.

So I played reckless; charged down the hill ahead of everyone and hunted their three SPGs below. The Hummel escaped my wrath -- to die at my teammates' hands later -- but the other two's attempt to run away couldn't escape the speed of an angry T20 charging down at higher-than-maximum speed. My team came down the hill and started to battle with the numerically inferior enemy forces in the alley. I flanked wide -- taking the center lane -- and two-shotted a KV-1S holding the alley along the way. Unfortunately I took damage from a vengeful enemy Lowe next to the KV, and bounced a JgPanther's shot as I ran across the central courtyard on my way to challenge the one enemy capper, which was being pinned down by our team's Lowe.

Turns out, it was a Type 59, and it was winning a mid-range duel with my team's Lowe. Again, the enemy ignored a T20 that had already wracked up 7 kills to concentrate on taking down the bigger tank. I was shooting at his back from point blank range and, while he managed to finish the Lowe off and tried to turn to deal with me, I was faster and took him down with no damage. I worried for a moment that the JagdPanther that tried to shoot me would hunt me down, but my fears turned out to be wrong. It went and reinforced the besieged enemy tanks in the alley, counter-flanking our team's besiegers.

At this point I thought anyway my job was over, but our team failed take down the surrounded enemy in the tank alley, losing tanks left and right. Annoyed, I broke from cap, sped again towards the alley, along the way shooting down the JagdPanther in his back. I closed in on the alley corner, dealt damage and distracted the Lowe which was trying to aim towards me so that my pinned teammates got to finish it off. In the end the last enemy was the only one who dealt damage to me and the only one who paid attention to the threat of a T20 that was rapidly wiping out its team.

A classic T20 game in every way -- on the hill, I hull-downed and aimed at weakpoints, flank, and backs of tanks; I kept moving all over the map, disappearing and appearing again at every major engagement; I finished off wounded but dangerous tanks at vulnerable positions; I was not the heaviest tank in the battle, and I did not try to hold any location. I did not fight a single "fair" fight, running away from the Lowe when it paid attention to me, and avoiding a potential brawl when faced with the JagdPanther. I was reckless in triumph, cowardly when threatened, and acted with the instinct of a scavenger. Lion? Tiger? Please, I'm a hyena and this is how I hunt.

It was a decisive victory and a fun battle that came just at the right time as I was running very, very low on patience. I'm going to take a break for a while, I think.

I platooned with Kimi's friend from Relic again, and boy, was it a frustrating afternoon. I was literally glad that we won the last two matches before the server reset, as he was this close to exploding. ^^;

It actually came to a point where he was using premium rounds against tier 6s with his Black Prince. Oh well, again I'm thankful, as I'm two up from where I started, but still, it took like 32 matches before it became more than breaking even.

I accidentally killed a teammate yesterday in my StuG. My team's M4 was engaged quite closely by an enemy M4. I aimed at the enemy at fired, but I was so far away that the reticle barely covered both tanks, so even though I aimed at the enemy, I hit my ally who was low on HP. This was toward the end of the game when my team had only 4 tanks left and my team's M4 didn't have much nearby backup. I was completely dispirited after that match.

I once had a moment where I wish I'd killed a teammate. I'd been firing at an enemy 4-5 times and was about to finish him off when a teammate decided he wanted that kill for himself so badly that he rushed out past me, stopped right in front of the guy, and protected him from my shot. Dropped him to 15% or so but I'd rather have killed him even if that would have made me look worse; someone that stupid deserves to die.

T-25 German medium tank is probably the best tier 5 medium prem out there.

I would include the Ram-II as well. Good HP, mobility, a decent gun with incredibly fast RoF. The Ram-II can be a brawler as well. Its easily the nightmare of lower-tier tanks and a challenge to same-tier ones. The only drawback of the Ram-II is its speed, which cannot top 40KPH.

I don't think I've ever platooned with Mow Yun, then again I don't think I have the username Mow_Mow under my friends list...

Is anyone still having trouble with MM rolling crappy teams? Because it's pretty worrying that it's what I'm getting 60% of the time (see my earlier post). Well that, or maybe Kimi's sucking out all our luck with his run to unicum-dom. XD

You know this is perfectly expected behavior in low-tier battles. What's really frustrating though is when you still see stuff like this happening in tiers 6 and above, where people should actually know better.

See how much the "Hey Churchill (the Black Prince), go scout!" comment gets a laugh out of us, because anyone who GETS to that tier (7) should really be familiar with the fact that the Churchill series are some of the slowest heavies around, and not for scouting.

Actually there is one case where I manage to win the game since Churchill scouting the area and absorbing the damage while we manage to snipe everyone

Yes platooning with Mow_Mow is a real treat, since Mow is almost never on. As for kimi stealing all the good games, meh, UTE's WR has been climbing up.

mines stuck around 53.8%...... I still want unicum status like Mow_Mow's WR, pure grape, just like how I was when I stopped playing DAoC, I was good, wouldn't say I was the best tho.

and now you can't say be like Touma, since UTE is beating my WR, he's pretty much more blue than me, accordin to XVM and WoTlabs ting.

They all have their own niche. Observe:

Panther: Medium sniper.
T20: Medium jack-of-all trades. Best used in support though.
T-43: Medium flanker and harasser.
Comet: Medium flanker. Can scout in a pinch.
VK 3002 DB: Medium flanker. Piece of Junk.
IS: Heavy Brawler.
T29: Heavy Hull-down user.
Tiger: Heavy Sniper.

And that's just a few from the top of my head. So just how much you get out of each is dependent on your play style.

I think it would be for the heavy T29 or the Tiger P, but if you want medium I think T20 or the T43.
I don't think you would want light tank for tier 7, cuz those get tier 9s and 10s battles.
