I'm pretty sure the joke was intentional. Isumi (or Hata) was implying that all 4 helicopters mentioned earlier crashed.

I hope what Nagi saw will just fuel her to win the competition. As for Ruka, IDK about her concert, hopefully it does not effect the outcome of the manga competition. It would be lame if Nagi wins because Ruka can't focus with her manga.
