By the way, the 6th movie is already out and finally Azaka finds her place in the spotlight; there is short (very short indeed) review at akihabara channel.

I guess asking for TV shows with the animation, music and pacing of these 7 movies would be quite unrealistic.

Still I have high hopes for CANAAN.

Keeping the movie idea in mind, it still would be interesting to see how they'd animate the routes from the F/SN game in that format --- especially UBW.

It will be nice but it is like the 6th Magic, Avalon the Distant Utopia, unreachable to mere mortals like us.

Not within 1 movie, it will be like 3 part 2 hour movies for each route if they want to do justice to F/SN story.

if knk is making type-moon and the animation company a nice profit. i can see Fate/Zero getting the movie treatment and if that works out then maybe remakes of FSN and Tsukihime.

Yeah that's more like it.

I guess my only problem with a F/SN remake is that i'd watch it to use the same score from the anime by kawai kenji, though they'd probably re-do it again bt anew composer.

& Fate/Zero animated movie? Yes please.

I'd rather have a Fate/Zero movie than anything. God I want to see Beserker so badly...

i am more intersted in seeing Caster.

Caster alone in Fate/Zero will keep it out of tv if the animation company wants to be faithful to the novel.

Another realistic approach will be OAD/OVA. We seen Hellsing Ultimate OVA/OAD which a very gritty series compared to limp GONZO version. Perhaps if fans around the world put in enough money and ask the studios like IG or Madhouse to do it?

Yes, I do agree that Fate Zero will be an interesting series.

Talking about sales ... Kara no Kyoukai DVD are selling 65k+ copies each , here is the source.

Also the theater tickets are close to 10k per movie.

For comparison, Tsukihime sold around 15k per disc, while Fate 25k.

All of these are rather hard to believe though, 65k seems especially unreallistic, however good Rakyo is. I expect in general for the sales to be quite high, but these number are just too high. For example Sunrise shows (Geass, Macross) hardly pass 10k per disc and Kannagi, even before the virginity controversy was around 12k! On the other hand, it could explain the ease with which companies adapt Type-Moon works or hire their stuff.

Not the later R2 DVDs! I was reading that they took a sharp decline after the first couple got released. Unfortunately I do not remember where I read that, it was quite some time ago and maybe the source was not reliable.

But still 65k seems unreal

Not to mention the 10k tickets ... damn, from what I heard the first movie was playing in only two small (< 100 seats) theaters!

I think what you're looking at is 10k for REGULAR EDITION DVD. 65+k is for the LIMITED EDITION.

From the blog, even the "non-existent" Tsukihime anime did quite well, each volume sold more than 9000 copies, much to my surprise.

It is not shocking for FSN to perform very well, (anything above 20,000 is a commercially success story; each volume sold at 19,000-21,000 range) hence paving the way for KnK movie funding. The investors must have quite impressed by TYPE-MOON titles despite moanings from fans on how bad the adaptations prior to KnK so far. LOL

The previous Adaptations were okay, we all know the order, it's just that KnK had surpass them all, so easily and so magnificently. 65K however seems immense however, but we must not forget that there are many Type-Moon fans. Not to mention KnK is only avaliable (legally) by movies or the DVDs. And the special editions have nice things (Like those 4komas).

But yes going at 65K a piece... that's just godly. I can totally see them animating Fate/Zero easily with that funding.

I stand corrected ... 通常版 is regular edition and not movie. I just noticed it now that I am pre-ordering the 5th dvd.

So both editions sold 75 to 80 thousands each

That's something like half a billion yen sales per dvd-release

No wonder Canaan (only the Type-Moon part of 428) gets animated just after the game's release!

Bear in mind too, a game reviewer commented the TYPE-MOON segment of the visual novel is totally out of synch with the rest of the story. It sounds like the company just tacked them on so they will get more sales. And with this surprising anime series adaptation, it becomes clear why the investors have confidence in TYPE-MOON.

for most anime anything approaching 10k per disc is a success story. most anime avg around 3000k per disc or less.

Latest volume sold 51,080 in it's first week and that's not counting the standard edition which should be around 5K, so in total it's sold around 55K.

Goes to show that better the adaptation quality better the sells it has for a Type-moon series. No wonder Kara No Kyokai is outselling those other series.
