Kidding aside Iam not really feeling geek boy, nor even when he grows up to be a stud, but he'll be the generic soft spoken smiling guy with glasses who needs another one of those? I feel those kind of characters are lacking, they don't give something special because they're just too generic. If he does something special in one of the future episodes I'll credit him for that as for now he's just not right for Anko.

It's not "I don't like them together", it's just not interesting to me as it is. I'm a geek by any definition you can think of, so I certainly don't hate a charater like him. Right now we barely know anything about him at all so his scenes, with Anko or not, are not that fun to watch.

Also the fact is that Anko is one always doing something for him, always exerting herself for that guy, which gives her a good development, but on the flip side what E-MC2 did for her? A sea shell present, it didn't felt anything special because he wasn't pushing the right buttons to make me interested it's just a gift, best example here is the Tamako and Mochizou scene, even that little mochi cake given to him by surprise, that made my heart warm up and made me smile.

Either way I think KyoAni knows he's not popular that's why he's moving.

So, what exactly is the difference between the two then?

Tamako gives Mochizou something simple, and he is overjoyed by it, so why is Yuzuki giving Anko a seashell suddenly not good enough, when she is obviously very fond of it?

True, we haven't had much development for Yuzuki, so we don't really know what kind of boy he is, but from the short times I've seen him, I'd say he cares about Anko. Perhaps not love-wise, but definitely as her friend.

This episode was pretty strong in MochizouxTamako but I will not give up on MochizouxMidori. It can happen.

The difference with the two is the way they presented it. Tamako's present had heart while geek boy is just a present from a friend, like you said "a friend", he doesn't show anything that can spark a blooming young love and his character is not developed well in the series, but like I said if he can (which i doubt) do something in the series to make him a better love interest ill give props for him as for now in his current state in the anime not yet Anko worthy.
