Lol this thread still has all the makings of a classic Sunrise show thread I see. Don't fuck with people and their expectations for confession scenes is one thing I've learned recently. At any rate this is probably the point where we see the massive divergence in opinion and where the weird subjective criticisms that are common to almost all Sunrise show threads comes out....whether I have to completely bail on it or limit my exposure ala the Gundam forum remains to be seen though.
Do people really think this recent stretch feels like a final arc just because there's a confession in it though? As I mentioned above I know that the confession/shipping thing is really important to a lot of people and can make or break a show for them, but when did it become the be all end all? I thought this was more a show about fighting game mechanics and social situations, not strictly romance. That said, literally knowing next to nothing about shipping other than that it's very serious business to a lot of people....what the heck does NTR mean? As an increasingly out of touch individual all I can come up with is NewType Reaction. |

I thought Cyan Pile wanted to take all her points, but right now, she does not have that many.

Aww, I loved Kurohime's heartfelt confession. It's just too bad she had to take a car head on shortly after. Seeing her covered in blood didn't sit well with me. At all. I dislike seeing such frail (build-wise) girls involved in accidents.
It was also nice to see that Kuroyukihime gets worked over feelings like jealousy; I wasn't expecting her to motor off as she did after Haru told her he direct linked with Chiuyu in her bedroom. |

beating KYH right now is useless because she only has 1% of her original burst points. And beating her now will guarantee of brain burst uninstall. Though it would be also hard for KYM to regain her points because beating low level opponents will not gain anything. Instead she would even suffer penalties of the game. It's the game system that protects low levels from high level.

A Lvl-01 versus Lvl-01 adds 10 points to the winner, and deducts 10 points from the loser, regardless of how many points either one of them have. The amount of points a player has does not matter. Taku is Lvl-04, and preying on Kurohime's vulnerability (due to her trying to keep a low profile). A lower level player beating a higher level player netts more points, and Taku desperately needs more points. Assuming he uses Burst Link once per Kendo round, he would need a hella lot of points to win an entire tournament, and as mentioned earlier, Lvl-04 and above players are rare, and he would get very little points from beating up scrubs. Cheers.

The reader, that usually either identifies himself/herself with the MC or has at least some liking to them supposedly starts to feel the same emotions as the MC (rage and jealousy). I cannot for the life of me understand how some people get off on this...but to each his own I suppose. Quote:
Don't forget that each time someone accelerates they have to pay a point. Like Skane said, if Taku used acceleration each round in a tournament or even during practice he would end up using a massive amount of points. Since there are more lower levels than higher ones Taku would either have to beat a massive amount of lower levels each time he accelerated or a very high level one to keep his point supply in check. I mean, fights are (almost) zero sum games, and accelerating destroys points. |

The episode was fun for the most part. It was when the confession scene came around to that things started to take a sour turn. I didn't have a problem with the confession itself (it was quite nice actually) but the timing of the confession plus the accident made it seem like KYH will be out of the picture/bedridden for the rest of the season. And that does not fly with me. She is half the reason why I'm watching this show Also, whats up with her family members not showing up? She got into an accident big enough to endanger her life and no one in her family cares enough to rush in at the news? That was the second point that irked me. But right now, I'm just hoping KYH will make a quick recovery and wakes up soon.
On a side note, it seems like it wasn't just me who found the nurse cute

The point system would be really problematic in AW specially that the kings make a peace treaty of no one invading. Meaning everyone are stuck on their own legion. And that limits your level grinding mode

I'm kind of happy that confession happened now and not at the end as usual but at the same time it seems a bit out of nowhere. She basically fell in love with his gaming skills and that's nota very deep emotion that I can buy.
Bud did love the small moment of jealousy.

Just saw episode 4. The romance would be balance now, because Chiyu is cheering fatty on with the heroine.
I didn't expect Taku to be the Cile guy, I hope they will explain that next episode. and people attacking Taku for being a creep and attacking Hime in her state is irony. Hime attacked one of the kinds (her friends) secretly and tried to kill them all when they were off guard. I don't sympathize for her state of being. Plus its a game O-o

Just to point out, the kings were not friends (as far as I know) they were just kids that managed to reach level 9 at around the same time and then decided to make a truce in order to keep their high levels. Granted, her attack on the red king was very sneaky sneaky and underhanded but she had already stated how she was against the truce to begin with.
