well.. depends on what you want to do with it ofcourse..
It normally comes with a Sony 32MB memorycard for savegames and such, but if you want to put to MP3's on it or watch movies on it, it's better to buy a bigger memorystick for it.. 1G, 2G, or even 4G is available but it depends on your needs and wants. The 32MB is sufficient for savegames though. Getting a screenprotector might also be advisable since the screen scratches really easy. Getting a good hardcase for it might also be smart, but the PSP does come with a soft pouch to put it in. As for helping you with gaming.. there is nothing you can buy actually Just play a lot and get better

The PSP2 is still nothing more than a rumor from what I have seen and read.. I have seen no official statement yet it's coming or is even being made..
I'm not saying it's not possible that it;s coming..I've just not read anything official about it.. For a hard casing I have ordered this one for both my psp's: http://shop.brando.com.hk/bwmetalcase_details.php?i=41 It's very much tougher than the logitech one and as for a screenprotector I have these: http://videogame.brando.com.hk/prod_...006&cat_id=005 the protectors are actually quite fiddly to put on without dust under them.. but it really is worth it.

I liked Tekken Dark resurrection very much.( tekken fan :P) LocoRoco simply rocks. I liked Killzone a lot. I'm just done with Splinter Cell Essentials I Liked Chili Con Carnage I liked Ghost in The Shell Stand Alone Complex I played Lumines, Lemmings, Mercury + Mercury Meltdown,Tokobot, Ghostrider and many many more. They were nice but not all that interesting imho. but it all depends on your preference..

I have owned the logitech one but it broke after heavy stuff fell on it ( a coworker knocked over a computercase at the service desk right on top of my precious PSP) and it still cracked my screen under it.. after I replaced the screen I bought that airplane grade aluminium casing from Brando. I've found that it can withstand trays of canned drinks being trown on it without it buckling or damaging the screen (my annoying sister put it in the trunk of the car right before we did some wholesale shopping... ) I don't think an added sticker reinforces the logitech like that But I think in many cases the logitech case is sufficient. I just prefer an undustrial grade safetycase Quote:
and yes.. I am somewhat weird, but my weirdness payed off at that time :P

PSP2 won't happen,
from those rumour the only thing i see happening is an updated and redesigned PSP, just like the slim PS2, PSone, GBA SP or NDS lite. Added flash memory or faster UMD drive doesn't make it a PSP2. Changing the chip and adding futher instructions onto it, that would be a psp2. Read this artcle, posted one day after the other one from above BTW isn't the logitech case made from polycarbonate ? |

if there hard encoded in a avi file
then just convert it to MP4 I perfer jMEnc2 as a mp4 converter, and its free as for separate sub files, you have to go through a lot of work of converting, then reconverting ect ... via VirtualDUB mod and AVIsynth I dont really watch videos on it I mainly play homebrew, emu's and such |

Soft-subbed anime will also work, if you follow this guide: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=47693
Just replace "PS3 Video 9" with "PSP Video 9" (Google it). Also make sure to install the latest firmware (v3.40) as that'll finally allow you to encode video in the native resolution (480x272) and copy them easily to the \VIDEO\ folder on your PSP (when plugged into a PC, a PSP works like a USB memory stick). But yeah, there's lots of uses for a PSP. I used it as a walkthrough for FF1 on my DS once, by putting the walkthrough from GameFAQs (.txt file) in the root folder of the PSP and browsing to it using the PSP Browser (URL: file://ff1.txt). Then I put the FF1 world map in the picture folder. Really useful for on de road, albeit using two consoles at the time is a bit odd. (I've done the opposite thing as well btw, when playing Sakura Wars [J] on the PSP I used my DS to look up kanji using Kanji sono mama) |
