Anime that'll make you "LOLOLOL"

The title says it all! The last time I really authentically laughed in an anime was when School Rumble was still airing. I tried that ouran star high thing, but didn't like it. Cromartie made me laugh a few times, but not like SR did. I really should keep a list of animes that I've watched already in order to help out with the suggestion process. I'll try and recall some I've seen.

1. School Rumble seasons 1 and 2 [Completed - Favorite anime of all time]

2. Cromartie High [Completed]

3. Ouran High [Dropped]

4. Lucky Star [Dropped]

5. To Love Ru [Completed, but didn't like it very much]

7. Hayate 1st Season [Completed. Sarcastic humor was funny, but became generic and got old fast. Don't want to watch season 2.]

6. Seto no Hanayome [Completed, but was a little too "loud" for my tastes. Though it did have some LOL moments (Main character tries to buy food at carnival, but there's a gun inside every single meal LOL, or the "DUN DUN.....dun DUN DUN..." whenever the girl's buff dad would appear )].

7. Clannad All Seasons [Completed, but not very funny. Kind of depressing most of the time...]

8. Nagasarite Airantou (or however you spell it) [Dropped]. It was meh...

9. Nyan Koi [Completed]


So basically, I really like School Rumble's kind of humor. Cromartie's randomness was okay, but it was a little weird at times. Seto was funny, but just a little too loud and obnoxious. Though I could tolerate something like it if it's worth it.


Also, no weird Ecchi stuff.

EDIT: Haruhi Suzumiya [completed]. I liked it, but didn't really laugh at it, though.

Hmm well you dropped lucky star, so I don't think you would find K-ON funny, though could try it.
So I'd recommend other animes I've seen recently that I've found pretty funny Haruhi Suzumiya[given you haven't seen it], Bakemonogatari, Needless[a little bit ecchi at times though], and Nyan Koi [I'd wait til Nagi and Twins appear if you somehow don't like the first few episodes then decide].

Sounds like you might enjoy the humor in Full Metal Panic. It doesn't always focus on the funny side of things, but the comedy episodes are chock full of lulz.

You might also like some of Takahashi's shows if you don't mind older series. Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Urusei Yatsura are all fantastic romantic comedies.

Samurai Champloo had some funny episodes, the 'Hakone Checkpoint' episode being my fav. The 'Baseball' episode wasn't bad either.

Azumanga Daioh - one of the funniest anime ever made.

Minami-ke - I mean the first season. Second and third season aren't as funny.

Ichigo Mashimaro + 2 sets of OVA if you like it.


And in case you change idea about the ecchi: Midori no Hibi and DearS .

I will second full metal panic fumoffu. I've now seen it 3 times in a row in 2 days. It is by far the funniest anime I have ever seen. Please, watch it now

Another suggestion is Koihime Musou. It is funny in a really silly way.

I would like to point out that the second season of Hayate is actually really good, whereas the first one got really stale approaching the end.

I've watched 5 episodes of Nyan Koi so far, it's pretty funny

Sometimes it's a little cliched with all of the misunderstandings, but it's still good. Thanks to who first suggested it!

I'll throw my vote in for Dokuro-Chan and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. I was also a big fan of School Rumble but I personally think that Azumanga Dayoh, even if it is a great and funny anime, requires a little something to get into. It's not the "LOLOLOL" type of humor you're probably looking for (even if it does have it's moments).

I found Azumanga Daioh amusing, but I only LOLOLOLOL'ed a few times.

If you don't mind that 70% of it is action, the comedy scenes in Hajime no Ippo are absolutely hilarious.
