The designs/bits of story info and the trailer have me quite intrigued, and the way all of the night scenes are colored/lighted definitely gives off a substantial show vibe to me, nice potential here.

As said above, couldn't help but think of Utena from the poses in the two sword drawing shots in those scans lol.

No, the one between Inori and Kai says "Secret relationship". As in we aren't suppose to know yet what kind of relationship they have.

And the Kai/Gai is supposedly a mentor/role model of Shuu.

In this context, I would say 気になる means he thinks she's a bother.

It can mean a lot of things. Usually in relationship charts it means either "Interested in" or "worried about" so that's what I'd go with too. Given what we know so far about the story and characters' relationships from their profile pages, that's what I'd go with as well. Then again, if Iori is constantly nagging him and being protective of him then I can see it meaning "Bothered". Also, it can be see as a step below 好き in relationship charts, depending on the context.
