It wasn't meant to be an insult, all love is generally accepted though people do have preferences to types of love however.

Well, your preferences are your own. But yuri inside a harem as anything other than a joke can only have two outcomes.

A) Yuri girl steals one of the girls from the MC. That is Netorare and is the exact opposite of what you described yuri as.

B) The Yuri girl gets her heart broken. Or is "awakened" to the joys of hetero. Gee, that won't piss anyone off with it's implications, will it?

Now, if it is a side characteristic and two of the girls in the harem happen to have a yuri-tastic relationship while still in the harem, or the yuri girl is really a bisexual who goes after both the MC and the other girl, that's one thing. But straight up yuri doesn't work inside a harem centered around a guy. Whose name is Kurusu, by the way.

All of this is largely irrelevant, however, as it's been confirmed that the mermaid is a "Mistress" type character who was messing with Mia for fun.
