I'm going to post about a meal I had three days ago because it was exceptionally good. I ate at a restaurant my family and I like a lot. It is a French bistro. For an appetizer, I had a small plate of duck leg confit, which is a flavorful and moist bone-in duck leg (drumstick and thigh) which has been roasted. It was served on a bed of some certain type of green lentils; lightly seasoned and with pearl onions.
I had a small salad of simply mixed greens and a vinaigrette made from scratch. For my entree, I had a tender steak with a wad of butter on it with some pomme frites (classic style French 'French fries' which are thin and crispy). Accompanying the meal I had bottled sparkling water and a nice red wine. For dessert I had some creme brulee and coffee. It was one of the best meals I've had in the last year.

The whole meal was very good, but the duck leg confit was my favorite plate of food during the meal. It was a real fine appetizer to have. And the steak with butter was really good, but it isn't a complete plate without the pomme frites, which for those that never had them, I emphasize, they are 'very thin' and crispy. I think they are great French fries.
I just did a google image search of pomme frites and of all the top results I saw, even the thinnest fries were bigger than the ones at this restaurant. I only get to eat like that every once and a while, especially fine meals like that. What did I just eat 15 minutes ago? A cup of ramen noodles (the ones where you just add hot water).

We don't need another thread about what you ate for lunch today.
