From the IRC, purpose of this post in bold:
<DKellis> The Bureau has only been around for... what, 150 years? According to the timeline on the first post of the OC thread, at least. <Jimmy_C> 75 (...) <DKellis> 150 years or 75 years? The timeline is not clear. (...) <FieryAeon> the bureau might only be around so long, but it doesn't mean that mages have not existed prior, as suggested by Mid vs Belka war <Jimmy_C> Timeline is quite clear <Jimmy_C> the current Mid calendar MC00xx is counted from the Bureau's founding <DKellis> http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost...postcount=6536 This timeline. <FieryAeon> it was said that the 3 admirals were key in the founding right? or was it the brains? <DKellis> I am just following information given to me as true and correct. <Jimmy_C> the first entry of that timeline is wrong <DKellis> Then we need another official timeline entry. (...) <DKellis> I'll go suggest it in the thread. <FieryAeon> this timeline hasn't been updated in awhile i think=\ <Jimmy_C> 150 years ago was when the High COuncil members ended the Last War on Mid <Tk3997> since the story isn't built around it <Jimmy_C> and I think that's an old one too Spoiler for Unedited transcript, for the curious:

According to Fate's words in episode 14:
"Ever since its founding, for peace and safety, the TSAB has rooted out those weapons and started to regulate the use of Lost Logia. That was about 150 years ago." In other words, the TSAB was founded 150 years ago. Fate then follows up with inquiring that since weapons are needed for various reasons, what did the TSAB did do? Erio answers that they decided to switch over to magical civilisation. Fate tells he's right, and the TSAB continued by placing the Main Branch in the Dimensional Sea, and the Ground Force HQ on the world the originated from. Caro adds that this was the start of a new era, 75 years ago. The three admirals were the ones who saw the TSAB through the new era. In other words, 75 years ago Mid Childa became a magic civilisation. So, 150 years ago the TSAB was founded, 75 years ago, Mid Childa became a magic civilisation, and entered a new era. MC 00 does not reffer to the founding of the TSAB, but rathering entering the era of magic. Last edited by Keroko; 2008-06-17 at 10:09. |

Regulate? Not eliminate? You mean there's some kinds of LLs they allow to be used?

They didn't impound the Book of the Night Sky. Or the Raising Heart. I guess once the LL is certified "safe" its pressed into service under their charge.
And SaintX and I have been using safe LL ever since... ever.

First up, welcome to Mirron. I hope you have a great time in here. As you can see we're happy to help out when we can. We'll even help to reel in carried away projects as well

>_> There's a reason why I'm heavily ret-conning my current lot of OC's. Soon to have new profiles soon as well Quote:

1) Split the drones up into a few groups. You might have one group burst through the doors(or walls for that matter) first of all, then have another group tunnel in make a grab for it once they're busy. 2) People are going to get hurt(civ's in general but also the 'good guys' as well). It's inevitable when they're that out numbered so keep that in mind. 3) I'm not really sure what good the civ's are going to be able to do, but having them organised under Jonson sometime after the attack begins will be good.. ie) Staying out of the way (non-heroics) to just making barricades and such(this will help to alter the dynamics of the fight). Having them running around crazily is good at the start. It'll add to the chaos of the scene but is going to be very very hard to write. 4) Perhaps also having the drones get their hands/tentacles/etc. on a few crates and then having a few cut down in pursuit as well. -More tips/suggestions on what to include if/as I think of them. The backstory is looking very good. IIRC it was Nightengale that initially had Jail with the Alhazard links. Quote:
I do however have some problems with suit (here we go again with suits). While I can see extra power being allowed for spells, there's not really a need to specify a rank extra. Give the suit to a S rank Mage and suddenly they're pumping out SS rank shots? Sure versitility is down, but that can always be compensated for with a few different weapon devices. Next thing we know S rank mage has turned into massive super weapon that not only can tank hits but also dish out copious amounts of damage as well. (More so than non-suit mage) The cartridge system on top makes things even trickier. Oh God, that's brilliant. Especially the dream that fate had and her reaction to it! XD Want it in writing NOW! Comparison between Ancient Belka and Modern Belka. Currently, the tehnique of Ancient Belka is being lost as it can only be learnt via the teachings of a master. Modern Belka is a Midchilda based emulation of Ancient Belka. Long distance magics (Shooting, etc.) is a weakness of the style but it is superior in close combat. -That's a rough translation of it, so there's not really anything that we didn't know already. Any body else want to have a shot at it? It's really the last sentence that I'm not too sure about (the bold, underlined section) that mentions lots of practioners? Quote:

To Keroko
Spoiler for To Keroko:
Quote:
Because Ancient Belka is an almost-lost technique, there are no users except those who inherited it. Modern Belka is a magical (lit: 術 = skill or technique) system that is based on the Midchildran style and emulates Ancient Belka. Many of those who can't use magic remotely or shoot to long ranges, but have excellent physiological capabilities seem to choose Modern Belka as a combat skill. Also on the poster, What is Midchildran and Belkan style. I'll let someone else transcribe the text, but here's the translation: Uses the organ known as the linker core to convert mana (魔力) in the air into magical power (魔力). The process is similar up to the part where magic is turned into actual power, but Belkan style emphasizes "Strengthening of Weapons and Bodies" while Midchildran style emphasizes "General Usage of Magic". Currently, the versatile Midchildran style is the mainstream. |

Regarding the hardsuits: will need nerfing. At some point. Later. Tired. Do not want to talk. Will come back to the hardsuits LATER AT ANOTHER TIME DO NOT PASS GO.
...garh a shirow ref? *sighs* Comar is making things VERY difficult for me by playing with things that I like. *sighs* But listen to Liingo. No way in hell 2 noobs are gonna be setup with their own unit. Instead, have Zead recruit them into Durandal. ...okay wow, I'm actually in agreement with ark. Then again we approach things in similar manner but with different levels of tolerance. I pretty much am a bit tired of responding to Keroko (who seems to be persistantly misinterpreting what I say) and so will go sleep. Oh, btw, ark, the context of RF6 wowing everyone is for Comartemis' AU fic project, where RF6 was a resounding sucess, and in his words, wowed everybody. I pointed out that that would be impossible, using examples from real world, both military and non-military, and Keroko accuses me of twisting canon for the sake of realism. Now this is something I want to say. Realism as regards to physics is wonky in a magical girl anime. But as to how people behave, as said again and again, you cannot escape the fact that people will react in like manner to the real world. Jealousy, office politics, these things all exist. So long as there are humans, so long as we humans exist, we shall never be free of dislike, of hatred, of the jealousy, the seeds and barbs sown into our beings with the sins of Adam and Cain. And one more thing: A world where everyone loves the aces is not only an idealistic, Mary Sue dreamworld, it is boring. When everyone loves them, the Aces have little impeteous to really advance further - they can all coast along. When they have to keep on striving and proving themselves, we get drama. Remember, conflict when done well spices up a story. There's a reason sports movies, which involve people stuggling their way to victory, are so popular. EDIT: Oh God I cant get the idea of Elsa in a Zenith-inspired Hardsuit design outta my head -_- and the Hardsuit means you need to wear this Latex Space Suit underneath it before you strap it on.... @___@ Okay for my sanity's sake i'm going to bed.

-Hence the need for less/no reasearch on mass based weaponry and more of a focus on AMF, since that's actually something that's 'new' or at least not very widespread currently but is going to be their new problem to deal with in the future. Quote:
