MJ is corrupted by money...thats one of the best quote I've heard today.

He was broken before he even had money, read up on his life and you'll see why he spent the money the way he did.

IMO, he was the Greatest Entertainer of my period. King of Pop was actually an understatement.
He was on a totally different level than everyone else... the 80s was "There's Michael, and then there was everyone else".

Yeah, I know, that's a statement by Magic for Michael Jordan, but I think it summarises Michael Jackson's place in 80s as well.

He was the biggest idol of my youth, and unparalleled in dance and pop music.
A one in a hundred years genius. Rest in peace, Michael, it was a grave loss to the world.

RIP Michael Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett, AND Ed McMahon. Bad news is coming in threes.

Okay... seeing the helicopter that's aparently carrying his body for an auptosy before being officially released...
Slowly sinking in that he ain't gonna pull an "elvis" and be "alive'
I kinda feel sick tbh, as for why I'm so shaken, I'll have to come home from work before I can write my 'ode' to him.

And I assume that his funeral will be as huge as Princess Diana (the months of flowers)
man.... just over 2 weeks before his first concert at London, he didn't make it to my hometown

*turns off Asuki for today...*

This is shocking.

I just learned about it here. Apart from the bizarre events surrounding his life, he is a music legend. May he rest in peace.

Michael Jackson - Master of Moves.

Thinking about it, it is far too sudden for my liking. So much stuff left unanswered! I didn't realise it till now but 'mein kampf' Jacko style would have been a literary masterpiece!

I'm shocked.

He may not have been totally right in the head, but he's got a good heart.

Farewell Prince of Pop.

Modern Culture would have been so much more dull without you.

Just wanted to get something off my chest.

being glad that Michael is dead is one thing (and a very bad thing at that), but what I'm actually seeing is that not everyone actually cares or is all that affected by Michael Jackson's death. Considering the news in everyone is on the internet, anyone who even shows a glimpse of not caring gets dog piled on like no tomorrow. When I found out he died, I was shocked for about a minute, but then the value wore off. He might have contributed many great things, but in the end he's just another person. Life will move on, so let's not be hateful in both senses.

This is more or less how people felt back then when Elvis died.

Once again, R.I.P Michael Jackson.

It has a LOT to do with your age, and the difference in era of upbringing.
A teenager like yourself and someone like me that grew up in the 80s take this news completely differently.

You believed in what the media says. Absolute genius.

Well looks like Eminem will probably make another rap about him......I believe his rap is just a joke not to be taken seriously.

His music is not bad IMO. He could be credited for "inventing" flashy MTV and pop and atrocious dance moves.

But the things most people will miss are his moonwalk and 45 degrees lean on his shoes (as shown in Smooth Criminal). Well, RIP M.J.

I dedicate the song Man in the Mirror to Michael, I hope he truly finds himself in God's embrace right now.

And yeah it's very sad that people are going to fling jokes at him now that he's gone.

He was just a person like us. :'<

"Ohh ohhh
Gotta make a change, for once in my life"

RIP

Oh definitely, I don't deny that at all. I'm way too young to fully understand what Michael Jackson brought to this world, and unfortunately I was introduced to him when his career was going down the drain. Like I said, I can imagine the same type of controversy happened with someone as iconic as Elvis back in the day, but I just hope everyone can understand that not everyone is going to feel the same about this.

I just don't want a flame war happening here that I see happening on other forums. I apologize.

I'm with you aohige-san. Yes definitely different in one's upbringing.

Respect for Michael, he's going down in history I suppose. For both good and bad.

"Black Or White" and "Heal The World" are his best songs... they seem to be the last popular songs that actually talk about caring and making a difference rather than cynically sitting by and watching the world rot.
