Seems like they killed the whole mystery behind who the "Director" is in the move adaptation by revealing Irie from the get go. :/

Alright, so I was exaggerating a little bit, but unless I misinterpreted the meaning of the term 'director', it's fairly obvious what is meant by it and I haven't even finished the first season yet. Combined with what the rest of the sentence suggests only reinforces my certainty in the interpretation. Though it is slightly my own fault for reading the brief wikipedia descriptions of the arcs.

Don't worry, you're totally wrong (you did misinterpret "director", or rather, you didn't, but it's not as big of a deal as you think). You have not been spoiled, it's okay.

Wha? Just how far are into the series? You should probably at least watch a bit more before wandering into this thread. A lot worse things could have been said that could really ruin the series for you.

Ah, sorry for blowing up on you then. Well, at the point I peeked into this thread I went through the first four arcs, right now I've gone through five. Since the movie was supposed to be only for the first arc I was expecting anything spoilery to be limited to the first arc.

Well take heed of the higurashi avatars as they contain spoilers of massive proportions

Also if you had seen up to Meakashi-hen you would know why people call Irie the director/manager
