Unfortunately, I don't have a detailed answer about this. I think she can spy at events from Elizabeth's eye, so she was aware more or less what's happening, but I don't know if there is any explanation where she was all this time or if anything like the Demon King's death needed to trigger her showing up. The only goal I know of was destroying the Sins. Lower your expectations about her since she has like 20-30 minutes of screentime total, and is ultimately defeated.

Merlin and Arthur talk a bit, where I think Merlin mentions that the era of Divinity ended with the Supreme Deity's defeat, now comes the era of Chaos. There seems to be implications that Merlin may be growing apart from the Sins, or it's hard to get in contact with her, since Meliodas talks about her, but he doesn't word it the way that they can just hop and visit her whenever they like it.

Ok, I've watched the movie and I'd say that unless you're (still) a big fan of the series, you should avoid it. The animation is average at best and it doesn't bring anything new to the table. If anything, it adds to injury.

You thought the Demon King was a joke? The Supreme Deity gets killed by Meliodas and Zeldris alone. Meliodas didn't even need to use his assault form. And she has like ten minutes of screentime tops.

Only thing I enjoyed was Gelda, the bothers making up, and seeing Hawk and Wild hang out.

Just watched the movie, I liked it. Some comments in spoiler:

the movie focuses on mending the relationship between Meliodas and Zeldriss and I think it worked well. One thing I have to said is that I watched it immediately after watching season 5 and so I still have plenty of vivid memories with all the sins together. People who watch it after some time and look for more interaction between Meliodas and his companions might be disappointed. The other sins (except for Escanor and Merlin) still get their spotlight, though.
People who complained about the Supreme Deity will be happy that she's finally introduced in this movie. People who expect her to be a higher level threat will be disappointed, in fact she even states that Meliodas in his demon king form could have killed her by himself.
Seeing Hawk and Wild together was a huge bonus.
The thing I disliked the most? Meliodas and Zeldriss got defeated in their first fight against Dahlia and Dubs. In the rematch, they simply switch opponent and curbstomp them. It's somehow justified by compatibility issues, but I stilltgink it was too exaggerated.
In the end, it'sa nice movie that brings a definitive conclusion to the Holy War and shows the weddings that the manga skipped. Just don't expect it to introduce new elements to the franchise.
