I've been watching anime for years, but the only anime character I'd ever had something close to a crush on was Accelerator from To Aru Majutsu no Index, and even then it' less of a "crush" than it is "HOLY CRAP HE'S COOL."

After watching Hana Yori Dango, I developed a little crush for Hanazawa Rui
This progressed into me watching the J-drama, then the T-drama, then the K-drama Eventually went on to read the manga. He's still my favorite character in all of them.

Although I liked Akane and Shampoo from Ranma, it wasn't until Ami Mizuno that I got a real crush on an anime character.
Since then I tend to prefer blue-haired characters with Rei Ayanami and Konata being the top peaks of this crush/fetish/whatever. |

I don't remember my initial crush but I do remember my younger years of having crush on Onda Aka (REC),
But thanks to Nagi, I have managed to get myself to where I am xD

For me it was possibly Lum from Urusei Yatsura. Someone showed a few eps of that at my college anime club and I was the only one who wanted to see more. So...it became the first series I started collecting. Considering UY's age, I'm glad to see it still has fans, especially Western fans.
And second (chronologically) was probably Belldandy, like many more of us here. If Kikuko Inoue ever visits another American con (she seems to frequently), I might make a point of visiting even if it's on the other side of the country. |

Okay... my first anime crush ever was (and to a certain extent still is) Mikuru Asahina from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya... I have my reasons, and they are beyond such crude things like the moe factor, or the outfits Haruhi makes her wear.
There, I said it. I hope to outrun the angry mob of Haruhi-ists right about now.

hehehe...Wow that brings back memories.. Sawachika Eri from School Rumble. Just a fantastic character, one of the few characters I still think is fantastic from the genre. Though tracking back.. even further, beyond anime, beyond cartoons even. Probably Susie from Calvin & Hobbes, when I was a wee lad (perhaps even without my manly bits), is there any comparison to her sharp wit and femininity? XD

Pre-anime: Josie (as in the Pussycats). Years later, I discovered anime, and kicked Josie to the curb.
A-ko got me started, but once Sailor Mercury came around, I was hooked...and then came two doses of perfection: Makoto Kino and Belldandy. Since the latter has a line a mile long and is waaaaaay too lofty a goal to reach, I settled for the Senshi of Thunder. She's the pure definition of dichotomy: sensitive yet strong, athletic yet feminine, fierce yet tender...and she can kick ass and cook a four-course meal with equal ease! What more can you ask for? A body that won't quit, a killer smile and the sexiest ponytail this side of Poplar? Yeah, she's got that, too! == MadPanda...(Chii from Chobits and Steel Angel Kurumi also have pieces of my heart)... |
