Thanks for opening the thread for us.

As it says, this is the Infinite Stratos 2: WORLD PURGE OVA thread.

This covers the events of the Volume 8 of the Light Novel, where ISA comes under attack.

It was good overall - much better than most of anything in the series, by far. Still, there were little hiccups along the way, which makes me score this a '7' overall, despite my obviously great love of Chifuyu.

Even with all of the relevant plot that was covered, it failed to address some extremely key points for the volume such as the 'Core Network' and also revealed how Byakkushiki inherited data from another completely different IS.

also we get a glimpse of the biological form of Kurezakura?? She's very much NOT like Chifuyu at all... How odd. Or is this the placeholder for the actual look/design of Kurezakura, which was said to be encased in some substance? Well, the anime has been known to take 'artistic license' with things like this so...

I can't remember the event so much from the LN. but I can't really find to like it if this is indeed anime original. And besides, it's Kurezakura (hence black....so why is she white?)

Also, while I dislike the OVA, that's more to do with source material itself. Objectively speaking, this is a high value OVA that captures the nuance of novel perfectly. So I give it 10/10

Again, I don't enjoy it wholeheartedly, but it's definitely better than the Infinite Shit called Season 2.

Just by the fanservice and the ichika of the other reality this was good, but, with the actual plot i was taken back a little bit, i didn't understand any of the progression, maybe i should rewatch last shitty season to understand, but, not now.
So Chloe is the sister of Laura??
weren't tabane and chifuyu kinda good friends?? what is with that final scene??
What is that system and the girl in the pillar(she is somehow related to chifuyu and her IS by what I could saw)??, i dont understand a little bit

We can wait for the subs but as for Chifuyu's and Tabane's actual relationship, my personal take on it is that they are not they type of friends who are buddy-buddy. It's more of that they are beyond ordinary people (Chifuyu's physical prowess and Tabane's mental prowess), and they regard each other as equals. I don't know why - speculation can run rampant on that one.

Tabane is playing some kind of high-stakes game with Chifuyu and the world just happens to be caught in the middle... Whatever the reason, Chifuyu is wary of Tabane as she would a friendly enemy. Which would make sense if one looks at it from this perspective. 10+ years ago, both Tabane and Chifuyu took on the world and they both won - Tabane managed to hack the missiles and Chifuyu managed to deflect them all plus take out a naval task force sent against her. Really, the only people they have left to challenge are each other.

Tabane = Magneto and Chifuyu = Charles. THat's the best way I can describe them. They are frienemies.

yea.. Houki's dream is the most plain... while Laura fainted at the end is also kill the excitement
umm.... in previous OVA in first season, they give Houki a boost of flags..
At first, I think they are going to boost Rin.. but it seems like Char, Cecilia, Rin, Tatenashi, and other girls also got slightly similar treatment

since it is uncensored (BD version), I think I'm watching a borderline-H (especially Rin and Cecilia route)

I should enjoy that fanservice more.. but Chifuyu really make me distracted

Honestly, I couldn't watch any of the other girl's fantasies other than Houki. It felt like the four of them were being potrayed as closet perverts. The bias towards Houki and Tatenashi is rather obvious not that I am complaining as they are my two favourite characters in Ichika's harem. If anyone will end up with him it will be probably be one of the two girls.
