Any of the three captives from the trial could have been tracked.

I do find it disturbing that an associate of Chieri's family could show up on Akibastar on such short notice. That's a serious security risk.

A slight change of subject, but we got a glimpse in this episode of what is probably the best bet to date of the entire membership of AKB0048. I went ahead and counted all the girls, trainees and successors, in this image:

I count 34. I don't know real life AKB's numbers, but I'm willing to bet that they outdo this easily. In fact, I would even go so far as to bet that any one of the above mentioned groups (trainees or full-fledged members) has more than what appears to be the entirety of the two combined in 0048.

I think it's a line from Acchan when she won the election (IRL). I think she said that because she knew there were a lot of people who didn't like her (fans of other girls).

This is not about she thinks she doesn't deserve it or not.

I'd assume whoever came up with that theory was working on the assumption that Chieri would tell her fans that her father had been pushing her, and even if she explained that she didn't know about it, I don't think all her fans would take it well. Hence that line.

I think the butler may have some form of diplomatic immunity and that he's acting as a courier, and given that the DGTO has yet to make a direct assault on the planet, I presume the local militia had already searched him thoroughly.

Yeah, leaves me wondering if there's an armistice in effect, or that the AEPS has a secret powerful weapon that keeps the DGTO at bay (like an orbital defense network).

Ah i kinda dissapointed because they reused some scene and song for General Election.
But of course, i am glad that Mimori got her 10th position. Her sexineshard work definitely pay off...
And Megu get her first appearance in the second season.

I literally raised my fist into the air when Mimori got tenth place, because she totally deserved it. She and Sonata were the only ones into the variety show idea from the get go, and after seeing her sheer dedication to the fans, and factoring in her endless optimism (she was Kanata's friend during her space batman phase, after all) and just being funny, it all makes sense.

And of course, the pheromones help too

On the not so happy side of things, Aizendad continues being a gigantic douche, though to be fair, he does it with style. I almost feel ashamed to admit that him going Aitakatta was awesome, because he might've as well punched Chieri in the face. I demand his downfall to be done in the coolest manner possible now. And there's also Chieri's reaction to consider. Did Tsubasa manage to convice to not quit the elections, or is Chieri preparing something big, like getting an even higher spot in the elections, but then making a speech about how she got it thrugh unfair means and resigning on the spot? hHmm, now that I think about it, that would be a planet sized scandal, so it's probably the latter. Maybe a vote recount, somehow...

I have to say, I'm impressed with the way the situation with Nagisa and co. is being handled, that is, their reaction to the elections and not being able to shine as strongly now. They're not feeling like crap, or completely hopeless (for now), they're just unmotivated, not giving it their all, which, as one of Nagisa's only two fans was kind enough to remind her, it's one of the biggest selling points for an idol. Also, Nagisa continues being unable to get inside that thick skull of hers that competing with your friends doesn't mean you all have to hate each other. Dammit, Nagisa, get it together.

Ok, enough drama, happy details time.
-Hey, it's Megu! They didn't forget about her after all. Awesome. Now, if you could just put her and Sae in one stage at the same time...
-They didn't forget the haters episode either. Cool.
-Sonata getting a feel of Orine was fun.
-Sonata's neko pajamas are ridiculously cute!
-Sonata dragging Grumbly into practice was hilarious. Seems like she's learned well from Shizuko.
-On a somewhat related note to the previous points, Sonata is awesome.
-Those fans sure are something

-Meanwhile, in Rankastar, Mamoru continues trying to put a tsun front regarding Yuuka, and failing miserably.
-God, Beginner is such an awesome song.
-Mayuyu's face when the announcements started was priceless. It's like "Let's get this over with. I could be eating right now".

Wait... a minute. They said something about episode 5 being a star war "kind" scenario. I am thinking this might relate to what's going to happen to the AKB0048 home planet after the General Election. (maybe I am over thinking this but it can happen)

You know she had more than two fans, just as all of them did. She also didn't seem to be having as much trouble in this episode as in the last one. I think you're being harsher on her than is needed right now. All the girls are tense. Heck, even most of the successors were having trouble sleeping that last night.

Nagisa wasn't worried about the competition this time beyond the basic tension that all of them seem to be having, she was worried about Chieri, because Chieri was acting like something was bothering her.

That was a joke, obviously (if you look at the images Tsubasa showed them before starting the event, her line seemed significantly smaller than Grumbly's, which was pretty funny and inspired me to say that), but she did seem to dislike the idea of the elections before seeing the successors going full throttle in stage and the fans being super pumped (once again the fans come to the rescue by merely being fans, still cool), which is pretty silly at this point, she should know better than disapproving of the idea of rivalry. I agree on Chieri being her greatest concern right now, can't believe I forgot to mention that.

While on the topic of Nagisa, maybe that tugging in her heart was her competitive spirit trying to come out? It would make for a nice twist.

P.S: Congrats to all who believed in Grumbly's sincerity.

To me, it seemed like a twinge of jealousy. Although, It could be that she was feeling sad (as in lonely) that Chieri seemed to be getting further away from her.

Well yes, it could easily be that as well, though it would be horribly foreboding if true, but as a lover of yuri, I still prefer that option, it's just that this show specializes in surprising you, so considering different alternatives doesn't hurt.
