-Shippou confirmed as being similar to Matou Shinji - there's something about that seaweed-hairstyle that screams you're unlikable. Due to Shippou's family trait 'Million Edge' that allows them to cast spells without a CAD, he looks down on Tatsuya's talent with CADs and the Magic Technician department Crest on Tatsuya's uniform. Miyuki got pissed at that (Illustration here: http://i49.tinypic.com/20idjly.jpg) and Shippou got completely overwhelmed by her oppressive aura. Granted, it's nowhere near the one Miyuki pulled out during the last election, but to first-timers feeling this it's a tad too much.
Later on, Tatsuya and Miyuki discussed various reasons why Shippou seems to hold enmity towards them, concluding that the Shippou family as one of the 18 assistant houses doesn't have the resources to break through Yotsuba's info-control. None of them even considered it's because they're thought to be linked with the Saegusa family. They decided to be careful, since it's one of the twenty-eight families (10 main + 18 assistants) they're facing after all.

Oh, and more Miyuki/Tatsuya shipping moments: Miyuki comes to the conclusion Shippou is focused on Tatsuya with his enmity, and he (almost) gave a spit-take. He said it's more likely it's because Miyuki was last year's freshmen representative, he's just a extra attachment that comes along with her. Miyuki vehemently denies that's the case, if anything she's his attachment/possession (Flere821: ... I'm not sure if you can't call this yandere with her fixation...), and says at the very least Tatsuya is her important partner. Tatsuya can't convince Miyuki otherwise, and changed the topic to whether Shippou's family broke through Yotsuba's info-control.

- Mayumi showed up at the 1st High's opening ceremony in casual clothes, and there was much rejoicing from her fans in the Chinese fandom
Mayumi teased him that he's a lot different now compared to this time last year, and Tatsuya decided to return the favour in his snarking/teasing: she looks a lot more mature than before with her choice of clothing, and Mayumi took a while before she realized he's implying she has a childish appearance/attitude, a loli-esque body, and making fun of her short height compared to her peers. Mayumi staggered at the implications and Tatsuya 'innocently' (heh) asked if she's alright. Mayumi stepped closer to accuse him of making those insinuations and he tried to suggest he didn't do so in any way, resulting in a compromising position that can leads to misunderstandings. As narrative convention dictates, one of Mayumi's twin younger sisters saw those two and thought Tatsuya is hitting on Mayumi and rushed to intervene. Translation stopped here for the day, so tune in tomorrow to see what happens from here on

Chinese fans have discussed the possibility that Tatsuya's emotional flaw is slowly disappearing, with the latest part of him trolling Mayumi. Things are certainly more interesting this way

-There seems to be some Yuri overtones between the Saegusa sisters Izumi seems to be slightly jealous of Tatsuya as Mayumi seems to be more open around him than with others; Izumi sees him as a unexpected 'hidden boss'

-Kasumi doesn't actually see Tatsuya as a "bad bug" clinging to Mayumi by the end of this chapter. She's actually still in shock she didn't realize there was someone like him in 1st High, being close to Mayumi, and that Izumi knows about him but she didn't despite both of them being there watching the 9 School Battles. She's revising her original opinion of him being a harmful presence.

-One last thing that I found interesting was how the Chinese fans brought up that among Tatsuya's accomplishments Izumi mentioned how one of the Ten Families got owned during the Monolith Code (Ichijou) didn't get mentioned at all; Izumi only focused on his accomplishments as a technician. You'd think after he blocked Kasumi's attack some explanation of his martial skills would be brought up here...

Even though she didn't have the luxury to watch the rear view mirror, he must have sat there stunned as he could only watch her successfully get away......

The young girl's laughter was as dark as it was masochistic, with a trace of obsession tucked within.

With each breath of laughter, the young girl's heart fractured a little more.

Is this directed at Tatsuya or Isori? And who exactly is that girl and why does she hate "him" that much? I don't remember her from the summaries.

WTF? What's wrong with her? Is she somehow being manipulated by those men and told that it was really Tatsuyas fault or is she just a real bitch who puts the blame on others?

BTW, is the sister that had the accident never mentioned again? I was wondering whether she can still use magic or if she quit the magic high school because of that trauma
