yeah; the main plotline with the demons is resolved but the unanswered questions that is result because of it is not; mainly because the rushed ending that is result of the author mother having cancer it seems, so he had to stop writing to take care of her.
in the end the ending was really bad(rushed), since his mother got sick at chapter 120+ of the last volume we could already see the decrease of writing skills and the rushed ending.

But i must disagree with you, the great villains are no more : heavy spoiler; a very heavy spoiler about the entire ending plot and rushed ending.

Black robe was the sister of zhou dufu who wanted to destroy the world because of what the world did to him (betrayed and killed him >>remember the wang zhi notebook? about zhou dufu(his big brother) a woman(without name) who he loved and him ? in chapter 190-200?), and in her plans(blackrobe) she was toying with very difficulty things (the other "continent and their godlike beings that is not a continent but more like a parallel world ) that wanted to cross and dominated the "normal" world .
so in the novel they took care of her and the world gained their "peace" thus finishing the big plot we have being reading since more or less chapter 1 (this would be a very good point to end but would still not be good enough).
So the author keep writing and started to introduce the "other" world with the mc going there to discover his origins, but at the very start of this plotline the shit have happen and everything started to be rushed to the end so we could have something like a "conclusion".
in the end we had a open ending about more or less everything that is result of the introduction of this second set of "plot" (other continent etc).
i must also say that in the later stage of conflicts we have a very strong "new generation" replace the old one who did all the shit and started the war and resolve the conflict black robe is the last one of the troupe to be won.

but i would still recommend for everyone, since without doubt we see the resolution of the first big plot of the novel that have being evolving since chapter one and one more think it seems that we have a DRAMA series about the novel being done, i have not see yet but i have being reading a lot of good reviews and it have a official eng subtitle on youtube, but the drama is not following the novel 100%.

I meant those 'other' race as the Greater Scope Villains. They hold the answers to the the remaining questions and were being used as a Deus Ex Machina (like by Demon Lord, then Black Robe) till this point. The novel is just finishing with a cliffhanger about them.

yeah; like i wrote; the entire aspect of the other world or how they call "holy light continent" have being given since chapter 1 but we only had clues enough to talk and link those clues more or less past chapter 550+ but the author only started to explore it's aspect fully when the entire situation of the "normal" world was done so more or less as it was the "main" plotline we had from chapter 1 to chapter 1200+-
So next he started to advance the story in another "storyline" a complete new one with a new world and settings but before he could go on he had to end it.
Now about both plotlines i must disagree with you about the holylight powerhouses being put as the "greater villains" so far since there is a pretty good society established in that world and the ones in power or the sovereign of the world is the enemy without doubt but based on the clues we have and what the author have write about they are beings used as means and are not the ones drawing the cards, they are simple being used and i will explain when i talk about blackrobe but first i will summary the most important clues we have so far about the topic :

first: they are not simple villains; it is a new world with a new countries and so on; we have confirmation that the previous generation of chen(descendants from emperor taizong little brother >> chen xuaba )was living there after being expelled by emperor taizong in a pact where he had to suicide himself in a fight against zhou dufo and was trying to come back and could have fair greater number of people who went there and could try to come back as well without being enemies per si.

second:The buddism cultivation is not lost in that world as well the golden dragon clan moved there.

third: since there is buddism cultivation we can also estimate that there is other types of cultivation that have result in the angels and demigods>>gods that is in fact the ones who rules that world , we can say that the description about the way that those powerhouses uses the DAO in their fight.

fourth: is also implied that the treasure of the demon lord and the entire plateau of stones who first have teach the DAO to the "normal" world came from that world and are linked.

fifth: it seems that the ones who send the teaching of DAO (the stones) to our world, did it without the consent of the sovereign of that world and thus have a group of people that is not happy about it.
Ps:by sovereign i'm saying that is the strongest group of that world.
conclusion:
first i would like to say that with this clues we can guess that world(holy light world) have being doing cultivate fair longer than the "normal" world and thus not only have different types of cultivation like buddism or others but also have a stronger powerhouses and higher level ranks; since they have being at this road fair longer and this is the reason why everyone is afraid of them; because in the mindset of the novel and in the world they live in if the " holy light world " who is clearly stronger and have being doing cultivation fair longer track-down a weaker world of course they will try to subjugate it and control it, ; it is a pretty clear statement in the human nature in the novel and the novel is not afraid to show it multiple times in the run like with Su li; Zhou Dofu's case; the beast raçe plot in volume 6 and so on but i would NEVER call them "greater scope villains" since they are more or less the means of the bigger villain in the novel so far and i will explain why when i talk about the bigger villain that is in fact blackrobe, at least with the chapter that the author have wrote so far since he choice to end and not continue.

Now i will explore a little more about 4-5 points i have wrote;
becomes pretty clear with the demon lord dying scene and with entire clues we have so far that the artifact used to kill him came from that world and uses the energy of that world and thus allowing them to track down the "normal" world and since they have the same proprieties as the plateaus of DAO and the entire lore besides it's origins, it becomes pretty clear that both of them came from the same place and that place is the holy light world and after the angels show up; we got to know that the DAO they learn is a fair more pure and stronger form that allow they more or less to "Life the DAO" than train/learn/use/fight with it like in the "normal" world and they are not happy that the normal world have put their hands on it since they think that they are doing a disgrace to the DAO or something similar.
Now this is where everything comes in place; once we got to know the intention of the masterplan behind it all that is blackrobe; Blackrobe never wanted to win the war for the demons nor anything similar; she simple wanted to destroy the world because of what they did to zhou dofu and this is why he have use the demonlord treasure and the holylight continent angels in his plans multiples times; because he know that even if he loses like he did in the END; the true is already out there to the world and more important to the holy light world and following multiple times the mentality of the world that we have read the holy light world would not allow a lower and weaker world to "live" without subjugate it or destroying it so even in the end the entire holylight powerhouse is just being used in blackrobe's plan to destroy the normal world if he failed to do so, because there won't be any difference for blackrobe if the world fail in ruin by her hands or the hands of others, you can even say that this entire plot is the "backup" plan of blackrobe; she is using the holy light powerhouses to do what she could not do if she failed so in the end.
the epilogue and ending have confirmed this even more since the way that the author have handle the last chapters before the end where the MC was going to the holy lightworld in seek of his origins and his family and not do fight and we had a open ending where he is waiting there for Xu You Rong as well so they could explore that world and discover his origins.

1) Judging by what has been said previously, the raws are finished, albeit in a rushed fashion due to the author's circumstances... right?
2) Do CCS and XYR end up married/together in a serious way?- I'm shipping them way too hard and the unknown resolution is killing me 8) from reading previous comments, they call each other beautiful, there's some jealousy with the frost dragon girl,they have an awkward date and some cute interactions... but do they actually commit to each other officially??..eventually?

they "have" not married, but they are together fully since they have met again after zhou garden but there is not a "official" scene like the one you are waiting for to tell to the world like a wedding or similar but for them and the world they are in fact a couple and they even point this to other people in some scenes.
First they keep it "low-key" and everyone besides the white crane and tang36 and the dragon dude(do not remember his name) knew about it but after his disease kicked in and he was dying, she went crazy yandere to anyone who came close to the MC so not only it shocked the world but also confirmed for the entire world(this time was for the cultivation "world",because the normal citizen did not believe/got the full history of the events) and it became like one of those "unspoken rules" in the novel, a simple way to write it is that "they are together by their action not their words".
The problem with the first situation is that she is truly in the upper echelon, like we have read so far ,that no one is good enough for her, so even after the first event besides the ones in the scene and their sect, the normal population simple did not truly "believe" it yet.
the first one was more low-key that was the one i wrote before when he was dying to his disease so everyone who was in the scene knows about it and the ones who have connections with people at the scene as well.
the second one was when she called her "army's" and almost started the third world war in the novel for him and was in this one that really exploded to the entire world(put here "normal" citizen in the world) their relationship in a scene that they are so in each other, this was also the last "good" arc of the novel because the next one the author was already with problems so we got a decrease of writing quality and so on.
extraspoiler:man; tang36 is really the bro, he stalked the MC for almost a week using high grade end artifact that not even the tops of the world knows/have , just to find out who was the mysterious girl at first and after that he and the crane became the official watchdog so that no one would find out

I mean, CCS does become stronger than XYR (CCS is in Concealed Divinity while XYR is in Sacred Domain) but the author doesnt even bother with reuniting them. I posted more spoilers on the Wuxiaworld forums, but you'll have to go a few pages back since some people were spoiling the drama.

since in the previous arc before the beast city arc at the holy maiden peak closed situation arc , she had more or less crippled her cultivation to save him of the surprise attack and thus at that moment it became clear for her and him that she would have a very hard time in the future, they even talk about it since he is very sad because of it.

I also have read the ending as well and like i wrote before, in the wuxia forum as well, there was a pretty good reason for it, since the author family(his mother if i'm not mistaken) is sick so he had to stop it , so i'm just gonna write this as well for future fans who will come asking about it without doubt . ^^
and since there was a good reason for him stopping we can also expect with luck for a sequel, since the open ending allowed it to continue without problems.

well, since the problem was direct linked to his mother health, if she recover from it , he will need to go back to work and the best novel from him is this one, so there will be a good chance that he can do a sequel for it,even more because the way he handle the ending, we can only wish for it and dream about.
or even if he do a new one, i believe i will read it, since he have this different aspect in writing plot points/twists that is really good, every move in the novel is linked to a plan and so on i really liked this aspect about it.
