Not entirely, maybe I keep various part of the story and ditch the rest, including the water-park destruction, which is extremely stupid. So I ditch some 'unimportant' part and add a lot of essay and explanation about the verse in form of "Day in the limelight".

Remember he was called for ByakuShiki's examination at the time, and this happen in canon as well, that's why he gave it to Cecilia.

Not the only one. I'm finishing Chpater 6, but the choice of whether to apply to either business or Psychology is killing me

I just think of it like a videogame. There aren't any save points, but there's always the option to backtrack before the final boss

I actually considered taking up writing, but engineering seems to give a more stable income and it also gives me more reference material for writing stuff.

@Eras: you designed Irish to be only able to combat IS in an urban setting or any place where he can take advantage of the situation right?

Actually, I already revamped. A normal fighting an IS would be a bit too hard to swallow, so he's more of a hacker now.

But isn't hacking IS not simple either?

He doesn't hack the IS. He mostly hacks the surrounding machinery so he can get away or computers to get important files. Tatenashi does all the fighting while he gets intel. There's one point where he took out a drone, but only because somebody else finished it off and the area allowed him to do things like surround it with wires and overload it.
