This excellent episode is the first in which the influence of the work of Masamune Shirow is clearly noticeable. The whole speech about how eustress is necessary for the well-being of individuals, and how we would live less if completely relieved of any kind of tension or conflict is something straight out of Appleseed. PP's Tokyo is starting to resemble Olympus more and more every episode. Urobuchi wasn't joking when he said he was a fan of Shirow and took his work as inspiration when writing PP. Great!

This ep is a continuation of the ojou subversion or deconstruction or whatever of the last episode. The female, good looking, mysterious, popular girl who seduces the female MC in most high school yuri anime.

I could hope that the girl at the end to survive and I realized she does it all make love and cut the girls to avenge his poor father, of the society the current rendering as its ...

and it made me laugh when Kougami told that Sasayama put his hand to buttock Shion and Yayoi

From ep5 and ep7, it seems that Makishima is hoping that the people he "helps" can become more than just killers. He had hoped that Mido would develop his own identity, but that man was empty to end. He's still hoping that Rikako will aspire to more than mere revenge. I have a hunch she's going to become a disappointment too...

I love how this Anime just makes you think.

I mean, you don't have too. You can enjoy the blood, gore, and (admittedly beautiful) art, but the questions it poses, the picture it paints is just... It's enjoyable to think about.

Me too. She seems to be recreating her father's works in another medium to me.

She may well end up being a disappointment, but you've gotta admit, the kid's got good taste in art.

Thinking about it, it's possible he's looking for people to achieve greatness and individuality by defying the system, most notably by killing people. While we look forward to great things from Akane, I don't think she'll be defying the system in the way he's interested in...

but yes, Akane can be the one Makishima's looking for in the end. I mean, who knows, he's a psycho after all. Not to mention Akane is like, a pure girl. In "psycho" way.

Zarathustra would throw a fit at the Psycho Pass world...

Heck, Rouichi's ideology is seriously the only bit of sense ever to have left that place. Even though the man himself is seriously frail

Having just seen Solid State Society the parallels between the Kifu Rojin and the "care" in Psycho Pass are so similar....except that in GITS world, people aren't as weak

You know, given all of the Makishima discussion on this thread as of late, and given how I see a lot of Madoka similarities with Psycho-Pass...

Spoiler for Madoka comparison:

Hm... Is the Sibyl system really ruling society? I'd say the cause of all this entropy is society itself for becoming reliant on this new system of health care.

Well... let's just say that people are "overly medicated" in this world, specifically when it comes to psychological health.

Again, let me go back to my PMMM comparison.

Spoiler for Psycho-Pass/Madoka Magica comparison:

Apparently, my real name alone is enough to flag me with a CC of 125.

I suppose the joke here is that the Psycho-Pass metric is a completely unreliable test of our criminal potential...
