Two is simply untrue. We've seen enough individual and group transports w/o ships. Three is unlikely given that transport operations are done mostly from atmosphere to atmosphere. |

I'll hazard a guess that they just can't port into AMF, and during other times capital cities come with Anti-Teleport Fields (Yeah AT Fields. ) to limit illegal transportation.
How valid would these assumptions be?

There are a couple reasons I could use to justify not doing a long range jump. 0 - Long distance non-dimensional jumps just aren't possible for a mage. 1 - Transport Magic drains. Do you want to jump into a possible fight below top condition? 2 - Potentially Dangerous. Blind Jump cross-planet? Not without precise coordinets and surveylance... Stuff you usually only get from having a cruiser in orbit. 3 - The situation is not so massively urgent that you need to be there YESTERDAY... and waste strength on the issue. But Urgent enough that getting there sooner than a few hours to a day later in a slow helicopter or waiting for a cruiser to pick you up would be preffered. EDIT: Or 4 - There's a transport limiting barrier in place. That slows things down a bit. Now, since we're talking about a modiefied B1... (Techincally since it's both personal transport AND Command & Control in a compact package, it's technically a CE-1b) ...We've also got one other nice thing. Modified for space travel means we can do a suborbital hop. Bypass the mach two atmospheric sustained velocity, and get across the planet in about twenty minutes. Instead of nine hours... Judging that a complete orbit is about 45 minutes for the space shuttle. |

Backlog breaking later, but first:
In S1, Fate and Arf are able to get themselves between the Garden of Time and Earth without difficulty (and I doubt it was the Garden of Time doing the porting, considering that Fate does not contact it, but simply says the coordinates to her destination, and Arf got herself to Earth after being blown out by Precia). And the Wolkenritter by themselves have been seen transporting themselves between worlds without ships. There's also the Lieze twins getting between worlds by themselves.

Oh Kashimashi, that show was totally wack, with Yukari Tamura and Kana Ueda. Just the mention of this show bring me memories of the Nanoha fancomics where Yuuno got Kashimashi-zed.
And did I heard Athena Glory? Because I think I heard the name of my favorite Prima >;3 |

Further, the fact that they don't use teleportation even when they ARE well within a few hundred kilometers (say Ep11-13) points to the high likelihood that the distance probably isn't the big problem... |

And then nothing. Sure they transport back and forth to Asura over and over... but that's Ship based power like magical Star Trek transporters. Quote:
I mean, in the early episodes they deployed via Helicopter out to the runaway rail line... if they could jump in, why not deliver them straight to the mountainside a mile or two uprail from the train and go from there? Either they have a good reason not to Microhop, or they CAN'T microhop to the middle of nowhere at that. And if the reason they won't do it is good enough to hold for a middle of nowhere location, it probably holds for the rest of the planet. And if they CAN'T... well. They can't. If I were writing an excuse paper, I would lay it down as that long range conventional site to site transport is just too much for a single mage, or small group of mages. And that cross dimensional transfer gets away with single mages pulling it off because technically, they aren't changing position in a dimension jump. Just setting position to Upper Dimensional Space, and then giving a SETPOS command when entering the target world. ("Set my spawn point to factory G on map DEFCON Rising.") A trick you COULD use, is to jump out to dimensional space, and then turn around and do a new jump... but you have to have a place to land for your middleground or you pop up in space. (Dimensional Space at that.) Space don't like living things too much. It tends to kill them. |

*spasms*
*cries* HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO TACKLE THIS BACKLOG ON TOP OF EVERYTHING THAT"S HAPPENEND?!? *calming breath* Bad enough that I've been confirmed as suffering from depression, and am now scheduled for theraphy to sort out myself. I have a shitload of work. I haven't had time to write. And I come home and I'm all worn out and tired and now even OG1 doesn't make me feel happy and there's so much to do and there's not enough time and there's isn't enough Goose to handle things and it never stops its going and going and goging and goging and the backlog never ever ends and i can't even keep track of it anymore and i barely even have time to sleep and i have almost no time for anything anymore and i can't even rest or do busting tonight because i have to go to church with my parents and.... *sighs* Alright, forget it, I'm not going to bother with a backlog buster. I'll just handle the OCs. Thus! OC progression is! @Reiji's OCs - and don't gimme any crap. Your life sucks, my life sucks too: suck it up and deal with it and don't throw tantrums at me. Especially Dirk. A mechanic learning Neo-Belka? Why the fuck is he offworld in the first place to be a mechanic? TSAB can get mechanics of their own. Figure this out and come back to me. I have Yuuno as part of Alpha Platoon, Assault Company, OFM. I am working on a believable backstory for him. If I can do it, you can. Stop bitching and fighting Reiji. If you don't like it? Then shut the fuck up and never step in OC again. Who the fuck gave you the right to skip the haxbusting? Who made you ruler of OC that you attempt to be "more equal" than all of us? You don't wanna abide by OC's dictums, take a hike, Reiji. And you in your infinite smartness missed what Kagerou said earlier, when ALL OC authors who contribute OCs to Alpha or give input will be mentioned. Just don't ask too hard for prominent roles for OCs... because Anyone Can Die. @USB: Will bust Rebuilt Frieda, Sayoko and Rebuilt Takeru, in that order. Agnes WILL be busted but has a lower priority. @ATC: Busting Deep Sky is on low low priority due to the fact that my focus is busting OCs. Besides... I guess you could invoke Rule of Cool on it. *shrug* @Evil Rick: Will bust Techno-Union and your OCs later. Haxbusting is a group process here. @dkellis: regarding desk jobs, my little-seen OC 1st Lt. Mikhail "Eternal Virgin" Dornitz (it's a long story which needs to be fleshed out, filled with cracky-lolness that can only come from real life) does desk work. He was a cop with the Erusian Gardai before joining the TSAB (well, a cop who wore body armor), and does intelligence work, ferretting out details, hunting down leads, and a lot of stuff that's really really really boring but absolutely essential. @Kagerou: Badass. *clenches fist* Now I have exactly five minutes to find and print a shitload of pictures before I run back to work. On top of depression and downness. I hope Cadia fucking appreciates this.

Yeah, I update the OFM links. I do not have either the time or the mental bandwidth. My weekends are all shot to hell. I barely have enough time at night to work.
And Reiji apparently has it in for me. I'm taking a break from Cadia. Don't expect me back until Sunday. Or monday. Or even Wednesday. I've hit my limit.
