Nah, I seem to recall Macross Plus actually predates the Su-47. The Su-47's first flight was three years after Macross Plus was released, and Russia generally doesn't make public their new stuff until they're testing the prototype. There's a story that says Kawamori once joked that the Russians saw Macross Plus and stole his plane.

I think the Su-47 was Sukhoi's revenge on Kawamori for basing the VF-11 on the Su-27M/Su-35. :P (Kawamori claims the VF-11 was based on the Su-37, but I think he's getting the Su-35 and Su-37 mixed up, the 37s were 35s equipped with thrust vectoring and flew after Plus, while the 35s flew before it -assuming you're talking the old Su-35, since Sukhoi recently recycled the Su-35 designation for newer Flankers that are not the same as the old Su-35s. Note too that Sukhoi actually referred to the Su-37s as Su-35s as well, the Su-37 designation was something someone else applied to the plane.)
Magnus, Delta wings are the ones which are triangular: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:RA...age_III_1.JPEG As for the YF-29... I'm warming up to it a bit. Some of the newer pictures are more attractive then the early ones. I still don't like it supplanting the VF-25 though for the reasons I stated a while back. I really like the VF-25s modular design philosophy as well as its looks. I don't think it's actually got such a problem in atmosphere -the design has plenty of power and if necessary I imagine someone could come up with some aerodynamic booster units. As for armament in atmosphere -it can supposedly use up to six underwing hardpoints. I figure you can hang a fair number of micro missile pods off those. And in clean configuration the swing wings allow it to take on a quite compact profile for Battroid mode (it seems to me that the YF-29 has an awful lot hanging of the back of it in battroid, though I haven't gotten a good view of the rear battroid mode yet). Actually I'm not even overly fond of the Tornado Pack VF-25 in some respects, let alone anything that's supposedly even more capable. It seems kind of overpowered. One of the things I like about VFs is that they're generally mass production machines rather than super robots. The VF-25 is a cutting edge next generation system but it's still one that's intended for general deployment. |

Hello everyone.
I am Sakura, Japanese woman like itasha, the car decorated with anime stickers. And I have a question from Japanese itasha sticker shop about design of Macross mecha for customers out of Japan. Then, could you give me your favorite Macross mecha? I listed some of them but your recommendation is also welcome. Itasha is car decorated with anime sticker like this. No.1 No.2 No.3 No.4 No.5 No.6 No.7 No.8 No.9 No.10 No.11 No.12 No.13 No.14 Thank you for your idea in advanse! |

More proof the Russians are copying Shoji Kawamori's designs:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sH3C0PhDKR...600-h/pakv.jpg  Actually, I was hoping to find some pics showing similarities between the current Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA prototypes and the YF-21 so I could claim that now they were copying the YF-21, but the YF-21 and T-50 don't actually look that similar. I think I was mislead by memories of the T-50 looking vaguely like the Nothrop YF-23 (one of Kawamori's inspirations for the YF-21) from the front even though the two planes look very different from above. Funny thing is I think I was actually looking for a normal T-50 pic when I found that photoshop -I don't think I had any macross search terms in there! |

Anyway, when the reinforcements came, Jeffry remarked that it was the SMS Quarters in addition to the combined NUNS fleet. Or he came along with the NUNS, who knows. Minor technicalities. - Tak
