That's a good point.

Don't quite agree here, but I don't feel like debating it so I'll just leave it at that.

Putting the formality of the words aside, have you listened to the way Caster speaks? Speech doesn't get much more chaotic than that.

Ok, that's a fair point. I admit that helps.

If Archibald's defenses are perfect then Kuritsugu would have a hard time setting those bombs around the entire building but he didn't. Archibald is just all talk heck he's even insecure with his own servant (like how he "wish" he had the mole to charm the ladies ).

I take it that there were enough non-booby trapped areas in the building that allows all the other normal people to live there.

Saber's master took advantage of those safe zones and likely planted the bombs there.

Lancer's master expected to defend himself (likely requiring traps in most floors surrounding him) but he didn't expect that he needed to defend the building itself

Still don't get why he thinks Saber is Jeanne D'Arc?
Caster was one of Jeanne's most loyal and trusted subordinates. He was also very much in love with her. And now, he's also completely insane, so as soon as he saw saber's face(which we can conclude is identical to jeanne's) he thought she was jeanne and went nuts, completely ignoring everything else, such as the fact that saber is wielding EXCALIBUR....

also, kiritsugu evacuating the building before making it explode from the foundations instead of blowing it up with everyone inside. Iri made him go soft

Just realized how stupid Kiritsugu is. He knows servants are capable of superhuman strength and speed. What's stopping lancer from just carrying his master(s) off as the building starts to crumble?

even with that, he nullified the need to get past the labyrinth that Kayneth set up.

imagine the amount of rage

Wouldn't you you associate a girl knight with Joan of Arc than King Arthur?

Besides...

Archibald spends five minutes boasting about the defenses he's erected on the entire floor, claiming nobody would to bypass his thousand traps, etc... and Kiritsugu just blows the whole building up

That was that infamous Indiana Jones scene x100. Too bad the asshole most likely survived. He is going to be so pissed, haha. I hope his assistant will mock him again.

My second favorite part of the episode was Gil and Kotomine's little chat. Those two get along surprisingly well all things considered.

Well he did send Lancer down to "fight Saber" so even for a servant it will take him sometime to go back to one of the top floors and save his master...

Archibal won't die that easily and early in the series.

Agreed. Caster's initial confusion is understandable.

Actually, there's probably no historical figure that gets associated with "Girl Knight" more than Joan of Arc. I myself thought that Saber was Joan of Arc back in Fate/Stay Night until that was clearly ruled out.

And... that reminds me of a minor nitpick I forgot to mention. Don't Servants get up to date info on the modern world that summons them, as well as legendary historical figures (hence why most servants want to hide their real names)? Joan of Arc is one of the most well-known figures of history. I found it a bit surprising that Saber didn't know who Caster was confusing her with.

Granted, Joan of Arc came after King Arthur, but hey, this sort of thing doesn't stop Alexander the Great from being familiar with Grail-caliber historical figures that came after him.

I think that this more about Saber typical denseness.

Saber and Iris had some Initial D fun, too bad were interrupted by the crazy Caster

feel like something fishy about Archibald's wife and Lancer...

i guess the little chat between Gil and Kirei is a must for things to come later

Most magicians in TM's world are extremely proud about their magic spells, and arrogantly defy “muggle”s technical tricks.
E.g. they knew how many minions sent by other masters ferretting around, but totally ignored a microcamera on the bat.
So as a pro "magician hunter",Kuritsugu probably finished his job quite easily, because Archibald never care things like C4 in his lifetime.

That would've been a good point if I never saw the other Fate shows.

This serie was perfect until now, columns really? This is the worst kind of censorship, removing an entire scene, even the holy light of Blood C or the pixelation of Umineko was better. Is a shame for a late night show they remove so much.

That's not the series' fault, but the broadcaster's. It's been announced that they are oging to remove the censorship in the DVD's
