They already had the first two seasons, this one was nearly a given.
To Love Ru Pinkness 01 - Darkness, But Not Seriousness Unlike with the first two anime series, I haven't read any of the Darkness manga. I did see Episode 00, so I have some background going into this. Mostly, a reintroduction episode. The tone feels fairly consistent with Motto, so I don't think I'm losing too much going in here. Until the zombie attack started happening. Having Momo and Yami take over the protagonist role is an interesting direction for the series to take, so I'm curious about where things are going to go from here. It's a natural followup to the somewhat abrupt conclusion from the previous series, changing Rito's MO from "fall in love" to "becoming King of the Universe, do King of the Universe things." The opening looks nice, and the music's not bad either. The ending animation is cute, but Kanon Wakeshima's music is still an odd thing to see in TLR in any form. I've been sticking with this for many years now, so here's to another cour more! (Also: Wow, The Anime Network had a quick turnaround on their simulcast here. Up and ready to go the same day it was announced.) |

When To Love Ru the anime first came out I didn't pay attention or was at the least bit interested.
Now 2 years later, I decided to check it out. It's wasn't so bad as I thought it would be for an anime with a large dose of fan service. I was quite surprised with the major all star cast of female seiyus. This season should be hilarious because Momo is in the driving seat this. I look extremely forward to all the dark, sinister and seductive antics she'll plan for Rito and the other girls.

Ah, the third series is finally out! I was okay with the first series, loved the second series, and this looks really promising as the third series.
I know some peeps on here will love this. Harem ftw! If anybody can do this, Momo can. The only concern is will Rito accept this, or will his future lie with trying to single handedly only get Haruna? Well, as seen from this episode, it looks like Rito is beginning to open up to the idea of a harem. Will it work out? Well, we'll have a whole season to see what types of antics Momo will cook up to resolve that plot point. Of course, now Rito really should have some major power upgrade in order for him to truly deserve the title of heir to Deviluke, King of the Galaxy.

I just watched the first episode. It has the same relaxed pacing as the OVA, but unlike the OVA which was more of a vignette, the TV series has immediately put forward a serious plot and various character tensions, and as a result, the pacing worked really well.
One of the most overt features of this episode for me was the soundtrack. It's sort of a mix of dramatic and tranquil rhythms which seem to better fit the mood of a story like Seirei no Moribito or Juuni Kokuki (not that I can recall the actual soundtrack for either of those). Sometimes it felt like the silence was so large that it deserved to be interrupted by more than just those simple background instrumentals, but overall I thought it was an interesting choice and didn't dislike it. The OP was also nice. Back when I saw the cover page of chapter 13.5 of the manga, I felt that the mangaka really had a vision for character development, based on the 5 characters that were drawn and the where they were placed. In contrast, I felt that this OP overemphasized Momo by placing emphasis on her character that is a level beyond the other characters. Even if Momo is perhaps the most prominent character in this arc, her character and character development far from constitute its centerpiece (just look a the title--it's "Darkness" not "Momo"). I would've preferred more of an equal emphasis in line with chapter 13.5's color illustration. |

Okay, I liked every part of this episode, Celine still causing every one of my heart problems. However, the only problem is this, IT IS CENSORED TO HELL. Seriously, random beams of light everywhere, shadows going overboard, and just plain weird things that somehow pop up to get in the way where it should not be possible.

You know now that I think about it isn't momo is the one closest to rito in the term of sexual encounter...I don't think even the other girl has come close to momo's level, and she's the one who initiated all of it ( humping on the bed, night attack, Borderline BJ ) she even think of the harem plan and thinking of turning rito into carnivore..truly "dark" when compared to other girl rather "pure" encounter...
Can you even imagine if your GF as agressive as momo? |

I want to watch this badly, but I don't want to put up with CRs lightbeams everywhere :x
Isn't there an airing later? I don't know if it's on AT-X, but it should air in like 4-6 hours on a diffferent channel. Is the censoring there as heavy as on CR?
