Y'know, it shouldn't be a whole lot of a concequence that Zoro lost an arm. Even though it means he won't be able to use the Santoryuu style anymore, he doesn't really need it to be the best swordsman in the world.
Mihawk has only ever been seen using one blade at a time and he severely defeated Zoro way back at the Baratie. Now that he's taught Zoro, he could only teach what he knew, and that's techniques that only use one sword. In short, Zoro doesn't need two arms to be the world's greatest swordsman. =)

Yes, I know that, and I know that I'll still love him as long as Oda is the pioneer behind him, but Zoro's 3-sword style, as far as I know, is one of the most original sword styles in anime to date. It really does add to him.
If anyone knows some random character from some old anime or whatever, I apologize if you feel all offended by me saying that, it's just that Zoro wears 3-sword style much more pleasingly than any other character who may have existed before him. But I know of none.

^Nami's make-up is awful (ugh, her eyeliner makes me want to crawl into a corner and angst), and honestly I don’t want to see her restricted to T&A roles only (a little exposure is good, but even the crazed pirates don’t walk around half-naked); and Robin looks too Lara Croftish (which kind of makes sense considering that Croft was supposed to be an archeologist from the school of Indy).

I just saw raw as well, the new character designs [except Chopper, who looks exactly like 2 years ago] are awesome.
Robin and Nami are INCREDIBLE!!!! I had my reservation on Nami when I first saw the color spread too, but that shot with her sitting at the bar totally won me over. Not to mention Hancock was her usual awesome-ness. Brooks looks to have became a superstar rocker while Sanji and Zoro looks better than ever and we got a Ussop-nator. But looks like the new Strawhats's first order of business is to take out and dominate the fake crew.

Mmmm Robin's hair will take me some time to get used to, though I did prefer her bangs.
Nami's longer hair give her a more "mature" look to me, in the raw page at least. I don't like Franky's new look at all, I liked his hair and he looks like a giant gorilla in the spread. The rest are fine. Oh well, I guess I'll get used to it. |
