I didn't want to put this in the normal movie thread since it does contain a spoiler that will have some discussion. I'm even safeguarding it in here for those who haven't read the later novels. If you haven't finished all 9 novels so far, DO NOT click on the spoiler.

Spoiler:

So....at the begining of the movie, there is a prologue talking about Kyon's life so far. With this, we get the first hint of Sasaki in this movie.

If you do respond, please keep in mind that some people who haven't read the novels that will read this thread to "spoil" themselves just on the movie.

Miyoko's cameo in Melancholy VI... although this one is a bit iffy, the only hint that suggests its her is the ponytail and her relatively tall figure.

Technically a Disappearance version Nagato would just be regular Nagato but with dere dere facial expression... and maybe the winter coat.
Haruhi on the other hand can be in her black uniform, now thats definitely not been done yet
What would be a REAL treat is Achakura Asakura Ryouko in her casual clothes + apron. I can see this selling out like hot cakes if they ever make it
... kinda reminds me, I'm still missing Max Factory Tsuruya-san, just need her to complete the collection... and eBay prices are rediculous

That will be the scene where Kyon talks to Nagato about the consequences of the new world. The one where he threatens the ITDE if they take actions against her.

You are correct by the Baka-Tsuki novel translations. I am quite sure that this does take place on the roof in the film as I've seen it mentioned several times so far in my searches. It is an interesting change, but they could have moved it to separate the Haruhi/Itsuki/Mikuru interaction with the Yuki one for artistic design. The definite reason is unknown to us for the time being.

The scene indeed happens on the roof. The reason probably be because they need to be in a place where it can snow, so that Kyon can call out "Yuki" which Yuki mistook as him calling hername, and Yuki can do her "Yuki" pose (like in the 1st OP) which was pretty emotional.
