Mostly the ability and color.

There's also the fact that Game Balance is applied properly, well made scratchbuilt > well made kitbash > bog standard unit

A badly built Qan-T will earn you nothing in terms of performance, and properly built BALL can kick ass easily.

And yes, Ichika's 1.5 Gundam actually shatter during the first debut because that very reason, while Dan's Moebius Zero earn him a place of national recognition despite not being a Mobile suit.

Hmmm... just planning to buy MGR makes me think of xovers like a fanboy again.

Ichika was officially and clinically dead. His heart was stopped and all. But his brain was still slowing down, not completely stopped yet. A man bought out Ichika's corpse because it was the freshest one available and did some "experiments". What came out was the epitome of a cyborg human mishmash. They named him Teiou. Apparently the name was not out of affection, it was a codename. He had just been inducted into the cybernetics program. There Ichika received extreme training as Teiou for 3 months. He learned quickly enough. He was sent on mission after mission then. Slowly buying back his freedom. He was driven by the face of a woman with black hair that he didn't know.

They're just synopsis' of Athena's three arcs so they're pretty short. What comes with each arc, though, is a whole lot more than that.

So, we've already got what we prided ourself about. But what is our embrassment? With me, it's the character depiction. No matter how many dramatic and paradoxy words that I found, they're still not real enough. It's like seeing a light bulb through the mist.

I think what I wanted to show in my idea with IS and MGR crossover was that every fic I've seen where Ichika supposedly dies and comes back better(in more ways than he could be worse), it's always a triumphant return.

I suppose writing the synopsis from Chifuyu's point of view would be wrong.

It was supposed to be about Ichika sneaking around ISA to get information on Chifuyu whom he doesn't remember save her face. He doesn't openly approach her because he is wary of their past relation which he knows nothing about. During his infiltration, he ends up fighting each of the girls. This is mostly inspired by MGR OST

At the very least I already have Houki pinned for "Stains of Time" while Chifuyu as the last boss gets "A Soul Can't be Cut"

Also, how much stress do you think Ichika could endure?

Laura will easily provide heavy cannon fire.

As for metal gears, they're considered outdated technology, with the advent of IS and all. As much as Ichika receives all the best cybernetic implants one could find, he is actually implanted with top of the line technology on the same tier as those used for IS frames. His missions under the program that saved him were less about metal gears and more about interfering in the black ops espionage in the underground of IS. His targets had been usually phantom task installations and sometimes others like the Sarashikis. He has been noted to defeat IS but only 1 on 1 and not in the easiest of ways.

If you're referring to mental stress, I'm not too sure. People with phantom memories and PTSD are quite difficult to imagine, especially this Ichika's case as he is somewhat of a blank slate when he becomes a cyborg.
