Oh, it was because of the Egg Apostle? I asked because i really don't remember any interaction between them so that might happened off-screen i guess. Plus, the angels looked different from the previous monsters the Egg created, which made me assume something else was involved there. Thanks for the answer

and the curse remains........ perhaps they learn, as producers Kingdom Season 2 learned and thus reduce the damage.

And confirmed on ANN as well. Like I said on there, I didn't think they'd bother animating more, but I should've known better really. At least the people who've never read the manga get to experience the next arc, and it should be fun seeing what newcomers think. The next arc coming up is my favourite.

Episode 12:

The ending felt weird. I mean, that part was actually adapted faithfully but the whole experience of the arc just gave me a strange feeling with the Griffth tease. Meanwhile, Luca stands out as my favorite female character in this adaptation. What a brave girl. I'm also starting to like Isidro a lot more.

The action was...meh with the CGI, was never good throughout the entire season at all imo.

No lol. I think they're gonna struggle.

Well, what to think about the ending....I liked Nina's arc. She's there as a viewpoint into the weak and suffering. Her arc culminating in her realising her weaknesses, her relationship with Luca and going with Joachim gives hope that the weak and suffering in Berserk can support each other, and grow stronger and kinder. It may seem small, but it's a significant step for people like her who aren't badarses who can swing a gigantic sword and slay monsters. Hell, it takes guts to even be people like Luca or Isidro in Berserk's world. Finally, Nina got what she wanted, someone who would truly accept her. Despite everything that happened between them, Joachim still came back to her.

I don't think Luca's speech about God came across well in the subs. She says (paraphrasing) trying to go on living is different than trying to escape from fear, and those who tried to live until the very end without losing themselves to fear from what was going on around them are the ones who survived. She finishes by saying God thrusts fortune and misfortune on people, but people still exist within a domain which is theirs to act in. It's a strong message that applies to a number of things in Berserk's world, and it's a counterpoint to the argument that people don't have free will in Berserk. I also like the way she lays flowers for the Behelit Apostle. At least in the end, someone remembered and cared about him.

The music placement was terrible during Griffith's scene, and the voice direction during the scene when Guts tries to go after Griffith but Casca's cries bring him back was also bad. Not enough emotion from Guts. Hirasawa's other new song "Ash Crow" is really, really good, but why play it during Nina and Joachim's reunion? There's the usual problems as well like blitzing through the material and hardly letting scenes digest, dialogue cuts, the visuals, the score, etc., but at this point, it's beating a dead horse.

I'm kinda looking forward to next season, since it's my favourite arc of the series, but like before, I'm not expecting much from it.

Getting a competent director might help.

A shame they couldn't commit to off model CG because they needed to insert hand drawn face faults and below par Griffith scenes.

It's hard to judge the content when the production is so messy. Maybe too much Sawashiro being all "anatatachi!"

Yeah, that was Casca's and Guts's child, it was born really prematurely due to Femto's corruption of it.

Mozgus transformation was due to his extreme religious faith which put his power on par of that of a true Apostle. The Egg shaped apostle transformed him with out him noticing. He was stronger than the Egg shaped apostles other creations actually he was stronger than any Apostle created creation in the series Hell he was probably as strong as a middle class apostle.

I forgot to consider Mozgus's desires, yeah, that played a part in his abnormal strength and transformation for a pseudo-Apostle.

And get someone who can better manage the music and sound effects as well, on top of a bunch of other things.

Casca could actually recognize Griffith and even somewhat spell out his name. She did nothing alike when Guts found her..lol. This probably means she never stopped loving Griffith and stayed with Guts just to use him as a replacement buddy. I also had that impression after finishing the movies but this new series confirmed it. Poor Guts

There will be a new season huh? Sorry but even tho i love Berserk i'm not excited at all, since it will probably be another terrible mess with outrageous production values. I will still see it because it's Berserk but my expectations are horrible low.

Btw, thanks for the input about the content used in the anime @Ryuga. Some things were cut out and confusing but you always shed some light into it

No problem DemonneoPT! Glad I could help. As for Casca and Griffith, I think during the Golden Age, Casca's heart began to waver from Griffith when she was holding Guts's broken sword out of concern for him, then she realised she was falling for Guts when he beat Griffith in the duel and was afraid her feelings for Griffith were false. Eventually, she graduated from idolising Griffith to loving and having a genuine, mutual relationship with Guts, though she still had admiration for Griffith before they rescued him. I have a different theory about Casca's reaction to Griffith at the end, but I'll talk about it more when season 2 arrives.

Halloween has come, and it becomes a perfect chance for me to rewatch Berserk 2016 as I do every year on October.

Just like everybody else I still have issues with the crappy CGI animation used throughout the entire show but managed to get used to it by the time I reached the fifth episode the first time around; did not feel bother by it the second time.

After marathoning the whole show, I sense the simple message is that people and beings try whatever means they can find or at their disposal to live.

The issue with the people who gathered at the Tower of Conviction was that their overboard use of their faith blind them to the point of stopping to pay attention to their surroundings. They completely stopped thinking and acting for themselves, as if frozen in an infinite time loop, and clinged to the delusion of a higher being going to their rescue and fight for them as long as they delivered proof of their undying faith regardless of the cost in the likes of committing murder or betraying their friends.

IMO, I felt Luca's character was a show stealer in the good context of the word, since her persona actually put gravitas and grounded the viewers's perspective within the boundaries of rationality and common sense. Through Luca's eyes we bear witness to the foolishness and feel aversion upon all the meaningless hunts and torture that consequentially triggered the spark that initiated the Incantation Ceremony at Albion.

Moreover, it is a good chance for me to comment that through the events happening at Albion feeling sheer despair and being overwhelmed by Guts's resilience never to back down against despair, the former experience rather than being traumatic it actually contributed to Farnesse turning away from her blind faith and coming to the realization that she has to cope and come to terms with her inner darkness with her own strength. Likely, this turn of events will contribute to her heel-face moment and maturing into a more responsible, self-reliant, and better person.

All now that's left is Griffith having reconstituted his corporeal form in order to begin enacting his dream of a kingdom of his own, but that's for the next season arriving on Spring 2017.
