Lightbulb Why do we watch anime?

Hey everyone its me LifeIsStudy! STUDY STUDY STUDY! I'm writing a paper for my english class and my topic is about what's so facinating about anime in which we think is really great? If some people would give me their thoughts about what sorts of things they look for in animes that keeps us watching that would be great! Plus you'll be helping out a fellow anime watcher understand the facts about the great thing we all know as anime! Please share your thoughts . . .

same reason we watch movies and tv shows?

the storyline/plot.
because of the action/comedy/horror/etc depending on wat we're watching.
Characters, we can relate to them, or we just love them.
lot of the things done in anime look better in cartoon form rather than done by actors.

Shame on you for asking us to give you ideas for your paper.

Anyway, my reason is because anime my sort of my gate into the Japanese culture which I interested in. Anothe reason I watch anime is because, imo, cartoons are not dynamic and colorful as anime is.

but you won't be quoting us by names, and i'll guess your works cited page will look awfully funny with names of random people found on a forum.

Pretty clever you are...

Well lets see.... Same reason as most people. Plot.... generally stuff like that. Plus there are some thing that you can't really do in real life. And if you did it wouldn't be too funny. I truthfully don't know why I watch it. It just interesting. I'm really not too interested in Japanese culture. So thats not the reason. I think Anime is becaming more trend, which means I might have to stop watching it or at least not admit I watch it.
I hate trend chacers.

I think its close to impossible to determine a specific element that makes anime so "facsinating". The only thing in common I have with most of the people in this forum is anime. There is no trend in our outside lives, attitudes, or even opinions! Your paper will end up being based mostly on your own preferences with a heavy amount of bull shit out of your ass. I guess what Im trying to say is I see no point in your paper. You could really take this topic to a whole other level instead of listing reasons people are attracted to it. Apply it to consciousness/definitions of diversity and individuality/cult obsessions/or whatever..the possibilities are endless!!! how bout you brainstorm and give it some substance

but to answer your question.. I like animation cuz it offers limitless storyline/setting/and characters! and theres cute indistinguisable animals that make funny noises!!!

ooh! quote me as Jane Aoi!!

I think of it like reading of book, kinda... since I'm literally reading...

I watch anime cuz there are characters that have personalities that you can't find in any other form of media... like american cartoons, tv shows, or movies.
