I haven't seen the Majikoi Visual novel, just the manga and the animé preview. Is it any good? I wish I could see it.

Can't speak for the manga (or even the anime preview; I should probably get on that), but the VN is great. Have a few reservations over how it'll be compressed into thirteen episodes, but even cut down it should be a fun watch.

13? is it confirmed 1 cour? I haven't heard of any news confirming that because it will be totally rushed if it's only 1 cour. The game is so darn long.

I'm considering dropping this show before it even starts. What's the point if it's just 12 episodes? This is an embarrassment.

I think I'll just wait till yandere translation finishes translating Majikoi.

They're probably just going to adapt the game's True Route, if they're going to actually adapt game content at all.

true route only achieves after playing other route. They will still tackle the story of the other girls even by a little. And here I was hoping it will be good because carnival phantasm was a success. But maybe being a new studio still lacks budget to do 2 cour but still huge disappointment.

I have concerns if they can even manage to do just that alone well though. I haven't played the true route because it sin't translated, but I have played the prologue, and the prologue itself is very long if I recall.

The prologue alone could easily be stretched over twelve episodes (my bad on saying thirteen the first time), no problem. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing (Majikoi doesn't need the romance to be awesome), but yeah, it is kind of disappointing.

Well atm we got 12 eps but I wouldn't put that in stone, we may get a 2nd season.

Only time will tell at this point.

But since I haven't played the game, I'm ok with whatever they do as long as it doesn't feel like they are trying to cramp it all into 12 eps.

Either way I'm mostly looking forward to seeing these characters animated

Majikoi is about friendship to begin with a family? not sure on that one but it's more of the bonding between friends.

Just reminding people that the anime site itself doesn't say how many episodes it is and ANN just puts 12 down whenever they have no idea. I have to admit though that 1 cour is the most likely option.

Honestly I thought most of the routes were about the same length as the prologue? Though Chris and Momoyo are the longest routes. So I hope they spend a good amount of time covering the prologue material because certain events are important.

Sentai's press release states that it's a 12 episode series. That's where ANN got the number.

You guys should do it like me:

1. Play the VN for the story.
2. Read the manga for the ...?
3. Watch the anime for the fanservice.

I love Majikoi but I'm pretty sure the anime will be most of the time about ecchi and that's not always a bad thing.. if you want story play the Visual Novel or read the manga.
