Does anyone else think that Spotted Flower might be the story of what officially happens after Genshiken ends? The author keeping everything in the story, mainly the identities of the characters, ambiguous to keep things from being too obvious.
After whats been happening to him in recent chapters, something good is bound to come Madarame's way. Seriously, how much trauma can one guy take before he is rewarded for his suffering? It would make for an interesting twist to the story. The author subtly revealing the ending of the series before it's official end, through the use of an ambiguous side story that appears to have little relation to the main story. |

Gus3: Nope, to think otherwise is wishful thinking for people who would like to see Saki end up with Madarame. As some people previously noted, the only way this subplot will end is when either Madarame admits to himself that it's useless to pine for Saki, OR Saki herself drops a bomb on Madarame to make him go cold turkey on her.
Until then, he'll continue to be the whipping boy for the comic. It's VERY likely that we'll see Ogiue's issues (from her middle-school years) resolved before we get a closure for Madarame. If ever.

That would indeed be awful, but thankfully the latest chapters (especially the just released chapter 69) have made Yajima look like a more likely pairing for Hato. Or maybe that's just my wishful thinking, since I'll take anything that might lower the chances of Shimoku trolling us to the point of making freaking Madarame switch teams just because he can't get it with Saki. Anything but that please.
