Something goes terribly wrong with Ai, that even her familiars are freaked out.

You can see the full summary and pics for episode 24 here.
The ending is, like, "wow!" This is a twist I didn't expect. |

Spoiler:
And everyone including myself was coming up with the possibility that Tsugumi could become the next Jigoku Shoujo, however, it makes one ponder if Ai has been the first Jigoku Shoujo or there have been previous Hell Girls before her? [ |

The raw is unusually late. Maybe I'll have to wait for subs after all.
I was wondering, is this new crazy Ai silent or is she really really crazy and loud? I think I'd like to see a crazy and loud Ai for once. |

"Crazy" Ai's not loud... her voice is one of emotion mixing sadness, anger, fear, and desperation... it's like when you're so angry you can't really yell out loud, but you say things in a huffy voice because you're on the brink of crying. The loudest she gets is when she sends out her final blast of energy and says, "kiero!" (literal translation: "disappear"; what she really means: "die!") |

TO: Jelly Caption Team
Hello Jelly Caption Team:
I would like to make one more appeal to your group to sub Episode 13 of Jigoku Shoujo. I know that I am not the only one who has stopped at Episode 12. If you look through this thread there are so many people who say they've stopped at Ep 12 as well [some blatantly, some subtley]. The reason is most likely the same for all of us: even though JS, being episodic, doesn't seem to have a continous arc, it's possible that there will be one. And we don't want to miss an episode that might be the beginning of a real plot arc, or maybe it's an episode important to the enjoyment of a later plot arc, or...., or...., or.... And so we patiently wait for Ep 13 to be subbed. But the show is now at Episode 22. There's only 2 more episodes. Sure, we could have someone tell us what happens, or we could go read a blog summary or review on Ep 13. But that's not the same as experiencing it yourself. And so I humbly beg of you: please, please apply your expertise to the subbing of Episode 13 of Jigoku Shoujo. Thank you for listening to my plea. Regards, |

I'm skimming through 24. Very interesting! Does anyone know what the significance of piling up rocks in Japan is? That has happened before, also with a young girl, in Vampire Princess Miyu TV and that show is probably full of symbolism as well.
Getting buried alive in Ai's point of view is so scary! Also, Ai's random appearance is also quite creepy. That would certainly have been a powerful and jolting scene if this was a live action drama. |

You say they will eventually sub episode 13. You know this for a fact? I don't. I see a higher level of commitment to other shows, with DCSS, Blood+, Law of Ueki, Noein, and now Ergo Proxy being produced regularly and consistently. And then there's the serious and spiteful response on their forum from a staff member in response to a post that asked about the status of the series. The staff member gloated that due to the user's post he was going to deliberately stall their Jigoku Shoujo efforts. In my original post I had no intention of being explicitely critical of Shinsen's release schedule [and I wasn't]. But you've dragged it out of me. Oh well, the best laid plans.... For those interested, I have screencaps of Episode 25: Click here for Ai's origin story. I'll have a full summary and more pics tomorrow (going to bed now).
