The only difference is that Emilia's eyes become more fierce and smaller when angered and Ashiya on the first two looked younger than in the anime.

......Just to be clear, you do know that the anime was almost an exact replica of the LN art style, right? The COMP ACE manga version is the one who altered the art.

Moving on, the only difference I saw is that the seem to get a little older looking as they go LN->Manga->Anime.

That is the interesting thing. Its a paradox of a old time folk-tale. Hero defeats the evil Demon lord. The image of Maou isn't Evil yet Hero has that face.

Might be a little late to be bringing this up with the next episode soon to be available, but I've seen more than one translation of Emi's line about the similarity between herself and the new girl, and I'm wondering what's closer to the original Japanese meaning. One version I've seen has Emi outright state/think that she and the other girl are the same size, while in another version she just says/thinks "Just like me, huh?" I personally prefer the latter since it can be interpreted more than one way (the visuals suggest Emi is comparing their chests, while the translated dialogue alone suggests she thinks the new girl is similar to herself because of her backstory) but it might not be the most accurate translation.

Regarding the character designs comparison, according to TV tropes Emi's eyes went red when she powered up in the source novels. In the anime it seems to be just her hair that changes color.

Now just imagine how evil looking her expressions could look if she had red eyes.

It was good fun how serious and extreme her reaction was to that bento . Emi's stuck handling these two girls who are aiming for Maou. Also good job on her part finding a way to be seen as their ally in this . Though she has been trying to dissuade the two of them.

Just started this series today, and I'm already on episode 6. It's been great so far.

What I've been really interested in is the love interest. Something is telling me that it's going to turn into a love triangle real soon, if it already hasn't. I'd feel really bad for Chi-chan if the main interest went to Emi. He should just take both. Cute on one side and sexy on the other.

Probably not within this cour but Emi has potential to make it a love triangle very easily. Maybe its because Maou is such a stud.

This is more like it. This ep was more fun than the previous one, not in the least due to Suzuno's antics, Lucifer crawling out of the udon box and whining about karaage, and they even managed to make the usual "Maou and Emi are mistaken for a couple" gag funny. Oh, and there was that really cute piano arrangement of the ending song during Chiho's confession scene.
