Manny's also a reserve in the Philippine Army. Remember he's a Sergeant.

It was horrible when Ricky Hatton got knocked out flat after such a short while on Saturday

There's no doubt in my mind that he will more than likely retire after that defeat I should think

In 2 weeks time he'll announce what he would do with his career.

I saw this on Sky Sports News earlier on this morning when I got up myself

He mentions something along the lines of wanting to stay in boxing just not competitively

hatton should just go home, his most famous win is against a fighter that is out of his prime and the two fights tht actually involved great fighters he got owned. The mayweather fight may have been 10 rounds but he got out classed most of them.

Well which ever way it goes. Juan Manuel Marquez is gunning for Manny, but he'll have to fight Floyd Mayweather jr. first. Come what may perhaps?

Freddie Roach also said.

Quote:
“We’ll not gonna wait around for anybody. We’ll keep Manny busy," he said

how about Shane Mosley? At the end of the match he said he wanted to fight Manny Pacquiao.

Of course I want to see Mayweather vs Pacquiao should be an interesting fight.

I had no idea Mayweather was out of retirement until I read this thread. That's disappointing, that he's just coming back to get whupped by Manny. Leave well enough alone, I always say.

Manny's my fav boxer period but stuff like this is lolz... what are people seriously basing the thought process of Manny is gonna own Mayweather? I mean are people actually thinking this through or is it simply "Manny's a good guy and Mayweather is a cocky ass so Manny is gonna whoop him good!"?

Mayweather is the bigger man and is nearly as fast as Pac, he's one of the smartest boxers around period and can make adjustments on the fly, his defense is so much more superior to Oscar and Hatton it's laughable to base Manny beating him on those two wins. I mean seriously you think Mayweather is going to rush him like Hatton did? Use your head... I'm starting to wonder if most of the people making these comments have even seen Mayweather fight..

Iam not sure, but whoever is the winner on the Cotto VS Clottey fight might face Manny. As for Shane Mosley, he's another one the list that Manny could fight, though the Marquez and Mayweather fight is on sound, Manny will be waiting and thinking who's he gonna choose to fight.

Roach has been saying for months that Mayweather wasn't a draw and they would not accept a 50/50 split with Mayweather since Manny would be the draw.. guess Roach will be having a few drinks after seeing Mayweather and Marquezs figures... it sold over 1 million pvps.

Mayweather Vs...

De La Hoya - 2.44
Hatton - 1.2 million
Marquez - 1 million

Manny Vs...

De La Hoya - 1.2 million
Hatton - 850 thousand
Marquez - 400 thousand (the rematch)

I always thought Roach was scared of Mayweather... and he knew there was noway Mayweather would take a 40% to 60% split.. I don't see Manny getting past Cotto in the first place.. Cotto has taken way bigger beatings than Manny can deliver, Cotto will hit far harder than anyone Manny has fought before and Cotto won't be draining himself to make a catchweight.. I think he came into his fight against Clottey at 144.. 142 should be no problems.

Does anyone else here go to a boxing gym? It is an amazing sport, can be extremely satisfying.

Do YOU go there? I'm more of a martial arts person. I find more "technique" in martial arts but that's subjective. In fact, Boxing has several controls as well.

Boxing has rules which limits the athlete full potential, since it's more on skill, power of the boxer to punch and his leg movements.

As for the boxing Ring.

Congratulations Mayweather for winning against JMM(Juan Manuel Marquez).

Looking forward now on the Manny vs Cotto fight.
