As someone who hasn't really read the LN series, what is thing about a Fake Ichika? Also, while skimming through the 8th vol., Ichika is essentially molesting/raping/attacking Lin. Why?

Because it is Rin's image of Ichika imposed into a virtual doppelganger of him. Another way to put it is whatever happened to the girls in the digital world thing, they kinda brought it upon themselves until the actual Ichika intervenes.

StratoSpear, what do you mean? I might read the LN eventually but for now my knowledge of it is limited to places like this, wiki sites, and MyAnimeList.

So, were they doing some training simulation and somehow Rin's image of him (a perverted one I'm guessing attacked them) turned into an evil Ichika? Is this simular to SAO in that this fake Ichika was the digitized version of one's thoughts?

The fake ichika = evil ichika = how the girls WANT him to be

Houki is the only one who accepted him as he is, well at first anyway, everyone eventually realize that it's all dream but Houki was the only one who know early.

Why am I such a shipper of the lead guy and girl of many series? It's because how often I've seen it and because it's such a cliche. Also, with how strong their relationship, I think it is dumb if they don't end up together (if they are siblings or relatives, that's the exception).

Except this one is just so bland that Houkix Ichika ship has the same chance as any other pairing, really.
I mean, sure she is the main girl and obviously Author's Pet but so far I haven't seen any situation that actually cemented her quality as the main girl, yet. No life-or-death situation, no situation where she's forced to pick between Ichika nad something greater(comrade, mission, family, idea...) So far, none.
