The official site got another update last week with more cool art.
More awesome character line-art added for new characters and colored anime versions of the art for Fam and Giselle (though ofcourse we've also seen them animated in the trailer too). As well as some sweet new ships/dock designs too. |

Very nice and I hadn't noticed before but there's a brief summary of the plot right above the character designs as well. As far as Google Translate and I can make out, the conflict seems to be over a water supply for two countries (called the Grand Lake, this is starting to sound familiar) and Fam and Giselle are somehow pulled into the fight (something about one group of people spotting them flying overhead and that's when everything turned to gibberish). There's a mention about Exile in the last line but it just seems to be asking "what is the mysterious power of Exile," didn't the first series kinda clear that up?

Someone pointed this out on the funimation forums but Tatiana and Alister (her navie) are now listed in the cast list as well. There seem to be more characters on the cast page as well (13 total now, Tatiana and Alister aren't on there) and it seems like our two vanship pilots and Milia (Miria?) are the youngest cast members which, for a story that seems like it's going to revolve around a war, I'm calling a good sign.

And the website has updated a bit! I can't tell if the staff or cast list has been updated but two more characters have been added to the character section (an older man and the green haired boy from the preview, plus there's a colored version of Miria's design) bringing the total up to 15 so far with our two vanship pilots looking to be on the younger end of the cast (just like the original series I suppose). There's also an announcement that there will be a manga version of the story starting July 4th and it seems like there's going to be a manga version of the first anime starting as well (google translate also said something about parts of the story that weren't in the anime). Still no date on when the show will start but it sounds like they still plan to show at least some of it at Anime Expo (the first weekend in July) and start re-broadcasting the old series July 19th (also sounds like they're going to re-release the DVD/BR for this series), maybe this will be a fall show after all.

Got a few new scenery shots from the website up here!
Also, on a recent ANNCast (podcast from animenewsnetwork) they had the guys from AX (the convention premiring the show) and they mentioned that this was going to be months before Japan got the show so I suppose it really is fall or later. Makes me wish we'd get a set release date soon although, the website for Fam mentions that they're re-showing the original show with two episodes a week (I think) so maybe that means they're gearing up for a fall airing? Maybe, pretty please?

And you beat me to it, I was trying to enter that contest on their forums for a prize pack but it's lagging pretty badly now, guess a lot of people are excited about this.

Seriously, I'm hoping that someone covers the premier episode at Anime Expo, it would be even more awesome if Funimation put it online afterwards....
EDIT: Well, there's something new on the website but I can't makes heads or tails of it with Google translate, anyone know what it means? Quote:

Figures, I checked the website yesterday but that must've been a few hours before the update went up. However, wohoo, release date!
And confirmation (live tweeting of the Funimation panel) that it will be a simulcast!
