How ominous.... a contrast to high tech world that is I.S.-verse are, but if you put it in another perspective, the 'alien' feel can bring a good atmosphere =.=

No, Alien does not necessary means creature from outer space. In this sense, Alien = foreigner, not necessary about place, but time and culture.

In this case she mean that to the protagonist, the place will brought a strange feelings (whether it's fear or excitement) due to sheer difference of atmosphere and situation. If you handled it well, it would be very cool fantasy/sci-fi story.

I think I did the same on Everything is Radiant chapter 3 and 4.

Plus, I think I'll change the theme from Adventure/Romance to Adventure/Fantasy or Sci-Fi/Fantasy

I think Scifi/Fantasy is better, since you insert elements of both genres.
